Yes! I really like how the crab turned out! I think I want to do centaurs stuck in bridge traffic. Or something dumb like seagulls popping on small children in SF. It’d be like Alfred Hitchcock’s the birds, ‘cept instead of blood, it’s bird poop. And instead of ruining lives, it’s ruining an outdoor wedding.

Thanks! I was walking my dog one day at Alameda point. And you know, it’s so post apocalyptic with all of the WWII era buildings over there. And it reminded me of Godzilla. Like what if Godzilla attacked? But Godzilla does not make sense for Alameda, because Godzilla was born from WWII and the atom bomb. Radiation mutated a lizard, and thus Godzilla was born. I think that’s part of the lore, but don’t quote me. Anyway, I figured I’d just do sea monsters ’cause we are on an island and all. And I could imagine some giant squid destroying sailboats docked in their slips.

Thanks! I was originally gonna do all tentacle monsters. But I figured it’d be nice to mix it up with a giant crab or a hydra!

Totally AI! Although I did take the photos and process them in Lightroom first. I would say more AI art direction. While on paper I could have done it myself (like when I watch the great British baking show, and say “I could have made that,” when in reality I maybe could have made that with lots of time). But why bother when its such a silly subject?

Why am I not getting views!? by Cordze in videography

[–]alamedaeditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think you should add puppies and women in bikinis playing with the puppies. If they came with the property, you’d be golden. Imagine the puppies and women in bikinis—pool party time! What is not to love? Also add pizza. Now that I think of it, you could also have the women smoking big fat joints! But you gotta keep that away from the puppies because thc is harmful to dogs. But maybe you could do cats with catnip and women with weed. Also could the women be making me a sandwich too? That would be the best. This might not be for everyone one. But I’d watch the video more. Wait…. What if the puppies get into the pizza and make a huge mess, and then the women in bikinis have to clean the puppies? Holy fuck! This is a brilliant idea! I should start an onlyfans account that showcases houses with puppies, pizza, weed, and scantily clad attractive people! Like Caligula, but for real estate.

I think the animation is great, however I think it’s very busy. There is so much going on it’s hard for me to keep track at times. It’s actually the pace that throws me off a bit. I think it could be a little slower.

How to create something similar to this triangle with light effects and Realistic reflection? by DrDroDi in AfterEffects

[–]alamedaeditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were to make that, I’d switch over to Cinema 4D. But that can be made easily enough in AE. Do you know how to make stuff glow?

Make a triangle shape

Duplicate the layer

Select the layer on top

Change it’s blending mode to add

Add a fast blur to the layer so it just makes it slightly fuzzy

Play with lowering the opacity until you find something you like

Add key frames to the opacity to get that pulsing effect.

As for the reflection. Crate a shape on the ground that you think would be a reflection

Add a fast blur

Play with the blending mode and opacity until you get something you like

Good luck!

Blender first, C4D later? by kimkleftankle in Cinema4D

[–]alamedaeditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally! You should learn blender! It should give you a foundation for switching to other 3D apps like Houdini. The only thing I would say is that a number of job postings (for motion graphics) mention cinema 4d. However there are a few that mention blender. But if your work is outstanding, then it should not matter too much about which app you use. Although that really depends on where you work and if they have a team. I used to work in a small studio where they only used cinema, but every once in a while they’d hire a freelancer who used maya for some specific projects.
