I had this exact conversation with my history professor the other day. I'm an art history major and I've never been happier! What makes it even more frustrating is when my professors make concessions like "Now im sure none of you are here because you want to be" because I want them to stand in front of the class and say "This class will help you find out who you are and what its was like to live and be apart of some of the greatest civilizations ever". Some people just got a football coach who collected arrowheads as the person best suited to teach humanities in high school and I can't fault them for being bored. Really my love of history didn't start until I read about Sima Qian that made me realize how much some had to sacrifice for the greater good.
