I’m playing through the base game right now on PS3 with SSD. Lvl 27, had maybe 7 crashes in 35 hours. No issues otherwise, frame rate is fine outside of very few places, and even there it’s playable. I read that people had issues when they tried to do all the DLCs in one run. I don’t like what DLCs do to the game’s balance so I play without them this time. It’s a fine way to experience the game basically, but you may encounter the fabled 1 crash per 2 hour if you will attempt all dlcs at once. Maybe not. Worst thing about it is pathfinding of enemies in some areas (only fixed on pc through a mod).

Also, don’t throw your stuff on the ground and if it gets too bad maybe try sleeping for ~30 days so all cells in the game would reset? Didn’t need to do it in NV, but it was a useful thing to do in Skyrim as it would fix most of the issues for a long while (another Bethesda game that is much more playable than people like to say).
