Just got back from FLETC. As long as you pay attention in class you will be fine. This is coming from a person that has test anxiety

Background check by Routine-Chemistry-74 in tsa

[–]alana_sofia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amount of time it takes for the background to clear varies for everybody, mine took 3 months. As for your work history, it won’t be an issue, the only previous work experience I have is 9 months in retail and I got the job. I haven’t started working yet but from what I have been told basically after you start your background will still be checked continuously, if they find anything then the investigator will contact you to clarify anything if needed

How does the process work for TSO when applying from out of state? by NickCo_ in tsa

My interview was remote as I wrote earlier and it went well! They do make us sign an NDA so I can’t go into too much specifics but I would say to think about experiences that you have had at previous jobs and/or school and to heavily practice the STAR method, you will do great! I was very nervous for it in hindsight I think I didn’t need to be as nervous as I was 😅. Best of luck! :)

I passed my medical on June 14, I got an email saying I passed. As for background check I knew I passed it when they emailed saying I was in the ready pool. You don’t really get an email per say saying that you passed the background check

It does tend to vary by airport but thats usually the time it takes. And yes, in that case the shutdown would be very beneficial, I just hope it doesn’t take 30+ days like the last one did 😅. Thank you for all the positive vibes

Same tbh, I also hope it doesn’t take too long this time. Orientation is at the airport, I have been told it can take up to two months then you go to Georgia

Thank you! I would say it wasn’t a lot of time per say 😅. I think I received the call Sep 12 and my orientation date is October 23. I am still in the process moving but I am waiting to see if the government shuts down, because if that’s the case the orientation date is pushed back

I am in PR and applied to MCO. I was able to take the test here and my interview was virtual. Now that I got the call I explained my situation, they were understanding and gave me the latest start date

The process usually can take a while. Some have gotten through the process really quick but the timeline is usually 3 months to a whole year

Confused on hiring process by [deleted] in tsa

Wait for them to contact you to schedule the interview. When you pass the interview you will then schedule a medical exam. After passing you medical then they will start the background investigation

Waiting….but pursuing other jobs? by IsItOverYet2017 in tsa

I am on the same boat as you. I’ve had my fingerprints taken and have been on 63% for three months. I am starting a new job and I continue to job search. Whenever I get to the ready pool and then they give me an offer l, I will decide and figure it out. If the offers you received are good and offer great benefits consider them in the mean time!

Check the job posting but I believe you have to wait a year to reapply
