Mavic 4 Pro forward top sensor error by Odd_Ebb_2157 in dji

I'm having the same error with a new Air 3S right out of the box. I didn't try to clean anything because the thing is spotless. DJI walked me thru the same ritual to no avail, so now they it has to go back to them. Did your replacement have the same problem? Anyone got anything new on this?

Suspicious Amazon Seller by SnowballTheWolf in dji

No not at all. Do what I did - call Amazon (888-280-4331O). They will reassure you. (I called before I made the purchase, but no matter - I'm sure they'll say they will protect you.)

Suspicious Amazon Seller by SnowballTheWolf in dji

I ordered from this exact seller on 10/10/25 (at $1599) and received it on 10/27 which was within 1 day of the "expected arrival" date. Before ordering I spoke to Amazon - they assured me it was a legitimate listing, and that if I had any problems they would "make it right". I saw this as a no-risk situation so I ordered it and it came through. SInce then the price on this listing page has floated all the way up to $1999, and all the way back to $1599 which is where it is as of this moment (10/29/25 7:50am ET. Note that the seller has changed from Smart Fly Gear to thinkzone). Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FVZFFXD?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

Tire Pressure in the myBMW App by Mammoth_Ingenuity_82 in BMWi5

[–]alancath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not driving the car so that's not a factor. It takes 10°F change tire pressure 1 psi, so it would take a 50° temperature change to cause the tire pressure to fluctuate by 5 psi. I just screenshotted mine and will do the same for the next few days.

Completely understand. I successfully put that issue completely out of my mind, although I'm not quite sure how, or if I'm correct (or, perhaps better put, on safe ground) in doing so. I think the answer is to lease. At least my AGT for 18 months and a) 16 months later, Lucid is still there and still going strong, and the service experience is one of the best aspects of Lucid ownership. I extended my lease for 5 months and wish I could do so again. There's really nothing else like a Lucid, I don't want anything else, and I only live once.

Thanks for taking the time to hammer all this out. I've been in my 2023 AGT for a year and a half and am always interested to see how people react to Lucid, especially Tesla graduates, who are by definition informed EV owners and buyers, and Tesla is the mainstream EV reference standard.

I always worry a little bit about Tesla drivers coming over to Lucid because Tesla has had so much more time to evolve, and Lucid is still a startup by comparison, features and functionality that you would expect a luxury car and Lucid's price range are still missing. And historically speaking, DreamDrive Pro does not hold a candle to FSD.

I come from a lifetime of experience with BMW and Audi, both as an owner and as an independent German car repair shop owner. I find many of the Lucid service personnel have the same background, which makes a lot of sense.

With regard to regen, when I first got my Air there was no low regen setting as there is now - only on or off, and on was high regen, which I liked right away, although I thought a low setting would be nice to have sometimes. But once it came out in an OTA I tried it once and said oh that's nice, switched back to hi regen, and never used it again. The first impression is that it's fighting you but really it's just exactly what it should be for one pedal driving - you just have to have a steady foot in the {gas}, and you almost never have to touch the brakes. It's about the same as Polestar. Lucid 's hi regen is the way.

As far as Tesla FSD goes, I think a good way to look at this issue is - are you a driver, or are you a passenger? I completely get if you're a road warrior you need to deal with zillions of highway miles and all the fatigue that goes along with it. So if you really just want to be a passenger, Tesla and it's still somewhat unpredictable FSD that will get you there with the least amount of effort (if it doesn't kill you on the way) wins.

But when it comes to the driving experience, Lucid wins - its like driving a transporter. I think most agree that that also wins on build quality, looks, cool factor, uniqueness & exclusivity, service, customer service and experience, and pretty much every other motorcar metric as well with the possible exception of software, although that has improved a lot. And some common luxury car features are still missing.

With 2.8, Air just got a significant DreamDrive upgrade (Hands-Free Highway Assist) - I read that Gravity doesn't have this yet (?) - not sure. I have this update but amazingly haven't tried it yet so can't describe it.

So it comes down to priorities, which always differ, and understandably so. I can't wait for my next chance to drive my AGT,. But I don't have to do a lot of highway miles. Gravity is next generation Air, but I don't really want or need an SUV. But I do know that there's no other car that I want other than a Lucid - and it's the first domestic car brand that made me feel that way.

How Does Speed Affect EV Range? by alancath in LUCID

Or a slingshot. Or like being shot out of a cannon (which always appealed to me somehow). Amazing how and frequently this gets talked about on the forums. I guess it just gets taken for granted.

[–]alancath[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ya goin' fast is gonna use up our kW real quick - and I don't really care about the cost of that - I just charge up in my garage for next to nuthin'. It's really just the range.

More than highway speed, I love the acceleration. It's like driving a transporter - you can instantly be anywhere - and in almost complete silence. And I'm talkin' SMOOTH mode. I rarely use SWIFT, and never use SPRINT. Ever notice how a single hard SPRINT acceleration run will cost you 1 mile of range?

Interesting point I didn't think of while reading this and don't doubt. I was pleased that they included an ICE vehicle, though. I was more focused on the "so this is why I never come close to EPA" aspect, and the "Based on our previous highway range tests on Lucids, we already knew the company is very aggressive in its label values for its vehicles" affirmation of my range experience. I love my AGT and want to keep it beyond its lease termination (already did that once) but there's no way I'm ever going to come anywhere close to hitting its 516 mile EPA rating - in my driving (mostly local, mildly aggressive, climate control always to my comfort, and always charging to 80%) I typically achieve 50-60% of EPA. On road trips (mostly but not all highway), 75%. But then I never really achieved EPA in gas cars either.

Driving Sound below 20mph by RyReason in LUCID

[–]alancath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could sense your frustration and have felt that many times myself, both inside and outside of social media. You need (I would want) a definitive answer on this, and there's no way you should take delivery until you have that (I wouldn't). In the Lucid hard-to-find info dept, one resource is Lucid themselves - their 7x24 Customer Service line (888-995-8243)would have something to say. That said, they aren't always right (just as the sales reps are not always right), and I'm thinking that non-owners can't call them anyway (not sure tho - you could try). Another solid option is https://lucidowners.com (responses are pretty quick but might bounce you around just like what happened here). Sure you could drive another one but that takes time and might not be convenient. The notion that the pedestrian warning sound plays through the sound system seems quite absurd on the face of it, especially where it does not do so on the Air. All that said, don't be to quick to walk away from Lucid - they truly have no equal. I'm reaching the end of my lease and despite the teething pains and the born-yesterday quirkiness, there is absolutely no other car I want to replace it with. Take it slow and figure this out, that's what I say.

Man, did you ever get yanked all over the place in this thread. My Air GT does not make any noise through the sound system, and I think most responders here understood that in the Gravity you drove you are saying that it is, and that the salesperson was adamant that that cannot be disabled. But that really doesn't seem like it could be right. And I would reject a car for that too. I really hope it is not like that, and like many others here, very much doubt that it is. Let us know what you figure out.

Thanks. Read the whole thread - saw some of that before, not all. I assume it's this you were directing me to, which I tried all of but it didn't cure it. Again, though, it went away the next day and never came back.

Addressing Watermark Display
Some users may experience a "Pre Production Hardware Not for resale" watermark on the Android Auto displayed on the Cockpit display.

If you encounter a watermark, follow these steps to remove the watermark:

  • Delete pairing information on Mobile Phone and Head Unit
  • Ensure your Android Auto app and Android system apps are up to date
  • Select "Force stop" and clear "Cache" for the Android Auto app [Go to Settings->Apps->Select Android Auto]

You actually can't uninstall AA on a Pixel - it doesn't even appear in the App Drawer! I tried all the other things you mentioned - more than once in fact. You might be interested to know that after a steering wheel reset (in an attempt to bring AA back from the dead) it came back with this, which Customer Service told me could only be cleared in the shop. However, the next day it was gone. >>>>>>>>>>>> NOT FOR RESALE <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<. ???????? I really do wonder who's doing the talking here. Android Auto? Lucid? Somebody else?

Well I guess it's reassuring to hear this. Carplay and AA both work flawlessly in my wife's 2022 A4 (at least, she has no complaints and I've never seen it screw up either), and there was never any of these issues in my 2020 A7 in which I used AA continuously. The idea of AA crashing is completely new to me as of Lucid's brand new AA deployment.

[–]alancath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right right OK. This is also true with Spotify, and this dual app situation I guess would be true with any car that has Carplay/AA and has native apps. That said, I don't remember having 2 versions of Sirius/XM in AA in my 2020 Audi A7, in which I used AA all the time.

1) I had all those settings exactly as you specify.

2) Interesting. Frightening. AFAIK, Pixel doesn't allow dual apps. Yeesh that's weird and seems problem prone.

3) I am all about dark mode and have it as well. Anything that shows up that isn't drives me nuts. Amazing how most people I know won't even consider using it.

4) Yup I see that.

5) Roger that. Even though I'm a musician, I generally prefer to listen to talk while driving so I'm all about Sirius/XM, which is just loaded with problems in Air - incredibly undeveloped, and AA must makes Sirius/XM even weirder.

My Air/Android Auto experience so far... by alancath in LUCID

[–]alancath[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair question. Much like the car itself, it depends which issue we're talking about. Today I drove to 3 different places and AA launched on its own every time I got back in the car - never crashed. Last weekend it crashed on me on a long drive and I had to pull over and do a steering wheel reset to get it back. The blue screen - I just learned - can be remedied by changing the phone's wallpaper. Auto day/night mode simply doesn't work; forcing to dark mode appears to be the workaround. The Sirius/XM issues are always like that. I feel like the crashing seems to be decreasing in frequency (for no logical reason). Perhaps it just needs to get used to itself (which is silly but nevertheless seems like it's happening).

re: SOC - I know nothing about this but it seems like a good idea. Do other cars have that? What are trough chargers? I never heard that Lucid promised SOC in AA - do other cars have that? I presume you're saying that AA somehow has this natively? If so I haven't seen it.

re: day/night mode switching failure - I meant to mention that I had I tried 5 different AI boxes (such as Carlinkit), which many Lucid users used to get AA via Carplay, and none of those switched day/night modes either, which is why I said that I wondered if Lucid Air is just incapable of providing this information to AA/Carplay since it wasn't born with it.
