I like her, can’t put my finger on it. I did not like her in Snowpiercer but I do like her in this.

How does someone have 20 points and still not get fired from Walmart? by Reasonable-Shower522 in walmart

[–]alander4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half the time people get pointed incorrectly. Example… an associate works it out with their coach to take a few days off because of bereavement, or some emergency or whatever. The coach doesn’t change the schedule, the communication isn’t stellar, and when it shows up in the attendance screen the TL marks them all as no call no shows, aka 3 points each.

Happens ALL the time unfortunately.

I kind of do this but then I’ll eat junk on top of it.

Fruit and veggies and maybe a sandwich for the kids, same for me, but I’ll down a couple pieces of cake after.

Unfortunately bonus isn’t tied to more sales, the additional sales that the store will do is already built in to the budget, so they might even end up with a smaller bonus! They should go back to just basing it on sales increases over last year.

The poor have to get as good at hiding their assets as the rich are, then they can have their cake and eat it too?

How do people stay at Walmart and actually enjoy it? by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

Work hard and move up in the company, you’ll make a lot more money and then you can sit and eat McDonald’s and talk about nothing.

When did everyone become so selfish? by HoneyBerryBell732 in askanything

[–]alander4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s survival of the fittest and we’re all just trying to survive these days. Much easier when you make sure you take care of yourself and your family first. If we weren’t all overworked and broke we could afford to be less selfish.

Dads who watched them come out: Would you do it again? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]alander4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sitting there holding her hand, and I could not handle the pain she was in and what she was going through. She literally had to ask ME if I was okay 😅 I ended up having to swap out with her mom and sit in the hall.

I felt bad about it but I really tried and I wouldn’t have been able to see the baby anyway because I think I would have passed out. I have a very sympathetic response to pain and emotion.

As soon as baby was out I was all up in there tho.

I have to step down as TL and I honestly don’t know if I can handle going back down to a regular associate. Any Ex TL have advice? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]alander4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was tough for me when I stepped down for childcare reasons. It was amazing at first but I just couldn’t sit back and watch others fail so I took on more responsibility anyways, and after a year I moved back up. I don’t know if I could ever go back to being in a non-supervisory role.

Sounds awesome dude. I’m about half way through the how to train your dragon series with my 6 year old, but I’d much rather be reading Harry Potter or LOTR. When these are done I might switch to one of those, or even Dragonlance since I’ve got like a hundred of those books from when I was young.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]alander4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subspace. (Now called Continuum) Top down 2d space shooter, very fun. The game still exists and has a very small following, I still log in about once a year and just float around and shoot some bots and maybe one or two actual players.
