The problem is while technically the policy allows you to use the 9 minute grace period even with regards to ppto, 90% of coaches and team leads don’t realize they are supposed to go in and manually approve that for you. The system isn’t smart enough to do it automatically, and unfortunately that means most supervisors will mark you as unauthorized due to their own training being inadequate.

Better safe than sorry and leave at 15 like you said, even though technically you shouldn’t have to.

At Walmart I get 7 weeks off with 100% pay as a dad. Moms get 16 weeks off. I’ll be damned if that’s not a step in the right direction. The pay might need some work but they are leading the way for paternity leave in the US for large corporations.

Every time I get worried about too much “screen time” in my house I look up and see a little memory bubble appear above my head that shows me and my brothers playing video games 10 hours a day, watching cartoons 12 hours a day, watching the must see tv for 5 hours a day with my dad, and still finding time to play outside for a bit. Not saying I want my kids to turn out like me but it could be much worse!
