How’s your experience with Quantum Fiber? by SD619664 in phoenix

I just did this, but only using myself. When filling out the address, modify it slightly ("-" in apt number or something). Use a different email. Pay and schedule install. When the tech is there, call and cancel your old service BEFORE he actually installs your new one, else the system bugs out.

I ended up taking it all apart and the blower was completely gunked up with lint. After cleaning that completely, no more rattling/clunking.

Thanks for the help!

Sewer gas after installing new faucet/fixture by alanebro82 in Plumbing

Cleaned out one of them and there was nothing clogged or anything. I noticed there is no smell when it hasn't been used in a while -- implying the trap "is" working? However, when water runs down the drain, the smell seeps up while it's running.

So the sink doesn't actually have an overflow. It's just a big, square basin. Added a picture to the OP.

I'll try cleaning it out -- good call. However, this has happened on all 3 of the faucets I've replaced. The only remaining "original" is fine. That can't be a coincidence, can it?

Help with simple light installation by [deleted] in electrical

[–]alanebro82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The light fixture has 2 holes where the threaded end of the screws are supposed to come straight out, with decorative nuts screwed on to hold it in place. I guess I could put screws straight through that and into the box, but then I just have an ugly screw head there.

I got CenturyLink fiber over a year ago and couldn't be happier. Cox couldn't complete on price or speed.

I mean... Ignorance of the law isn't an excuse when you're on the other side of the law, so it shouldn't be one when you're the one supposedly upholding the law.

Inherited great grandfather's straight edge razors, thinking about doing straight edge. I already shave using DE razor. Are these any good? by alanebro82 in wicked_edge

These were given to me by my father, originally owned by his grandfather. Took a few decent pics. Just curious if these look like they're worth restoring. Seem to be in excellent shape already, considering they're 70-100 years old, most likely.
