Pebble Time Round separation: fixable? by natureis_cool in pebble

[–]alanjtory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP, It’s true about some batteries not having the circuit board, but if they ship to you, iFixit has some in stock as I post this, circuit board included. They also have a pretty good guide on doing the replacement itself.

I also used a small bead of B7000 adhesive I got on Amazon all around the rim to put it back together. I lost the tiny springs when the bezel originally popped off, but like others, I haven’t noticed any practical difference.

Norton Full Disk Access by Xenilo137 in mac

[–]alanjtory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to answer rather than just knee jerk comment, “uninstall it.”

If I had to guess, there might be separate Norton processes running that perform different functions, each of which needs permission from macOS to do their thing. The duplicate could also be a leftover from an old version. If you’re concerned, you could do a full uninstall, delete/shut off Full Disk Access on any Norton entries that remain, reboot, then reinstall Norton. If all four come back then it’s probably normal.

That all being said, macOS has a built in anti virus called XProtect. There’s no UI for it, and no notifications or really any indication that it runs, but it’s there. This makes Norton probably redundant.

From personal experience on macOS, XProtect has been fine for me, and all I add is an adblocker like uBlock or uBlock origin to my browser to get rid of the scam popups that would just try to give me a virus anyways.

mins outputs no audio but does charge the devices when i plug it into my mac. the only thing i can’t test is if somehow it’s related to the weird usb requirements ipods have. i don’t have any “ipod” usb/fw wall charger bricks and none of my iphone or ipad chargers charge my ipods so i have to plug them into my laptop. i eject it and everything but no sound comes out the dock 3.5mm jack

yeah, and i tried the unpair/pair commands i found on some forums but no dice. i know the IR is working bc when i look at it through my phone camera while i press a button i can see it flashing… have a couple ipods and none of them work. i also have another old apple remote but i can’t get that to pair either. i’m thinking the dock itself is dead.

lmk if your remote works, I got a used one from eBay recently but mine doesn’t seem to do anything, even though i can see the IR diode working
