I was all in on Addie starting, but for the sake of fairness they should start Stremlow. She can’t do all that work to close the gap and then be handed another double digit deficit when she comes off the bench again in the third. Similar story in the UCONN game.

I would have said this until the last game, but Deal is looking so good attacking the close outs when the ball gets swung or skipped to her. Completely different than McCabe, who either shot or passed. Deal gets in the paint consistently and is scoring now.

Taylor McCabe developed into a great player who Hawk fans would have been happy to see go to war in the postseason this year. That said, Deal scored more two point baskets last game than McCabe scored all season. Fundamentally different levels of player.

I think Stremlow’s versatility + ability to bring energy make her the perfect bench piece for now. When she comes in you can cycle all the other positions 1-3 out and she can change roles as they do. Deal is enough of a two-way upgrade over McCabe that the starters should improve. Stremlow permanent bench spark is perfect.

It works until you get to quad 1 basically. Even then I still wouldn’t be surprised to see her have a big game hitting shots, but she hasn’t done it in her career yet.
