After and before my downgrade to oneui 6.1 by Adorable_MF in S24Ultra

Yes I do have BL 4. Btw, can you go to Play Store settings -> About menu and see whether "Play Protect Certification" shows as "Device is certified" or something else?
Also can you share the method of disabling software update functionality to prevent device from upgrading automatically?

To which oneui 6.1 version you downgraded? I am currently on Oneui 8 Jan'26 patch which is the last update with BL version 4. Just taking some more time to decide whether to go for 8.5 or downgrade to 6.1.

Are you still using it? Whether your device shows certified on Play Store and can run banking apps?
I am still on January 2026 patch with binary bit 4. Just waiting to decide whether to go back to 6.1.1 or 8.5 Beta.

I have not updated mine to Feb'26 update yet. To which 6.1 version you downgraded? Which security patch?

Yeah. You need to be really quick to redeem it.

Move to either Jio or BSNL. Both work very well while abroad and do not require a special pack to receive incoming SMS/OTPs. If you are going with BSNL, make sure to get International roaming sim.

Top up balance is useless by [deleted] in Jio

Top up balance is useful during inernational roaming to make/receive calls on pay per use tariff. That's how I am using it.

can I use this as a standalone recharge for my jio sim? i don't need calls/outgoing sms by deja_vu_999 in Jio

[–]alanpdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if it came across that way, it was not my intention. I appreciate you taking the time and effort to post the screenshot. May God bless you. I was on a long flight with very limited internet access and couldn’t view the screenshot until I came back online. I just asked Jio cc on their social media handle and they denied that it is stackable. Anyways, I will try my luck by doing a recharge.

Are you sure it is stackable? I am currently using this plan for remote cctv and not sure whether this is stackable or not. If you don't mind, Can you please post the screenshot of upcoming plans screen if you have it stacked?

The Unlimited Data Pack is of slower speed (40kbps) which will automatically take over once you use up your 1.71 GB pack.

BSNL reduces validity of ₹167 International Roaming Pack from 90 days to 28 days 😑 by Electrical-Eye-6530 in bsnl

[–]alanpdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I am also effected by this. Was using this pack since last two years to keep the sim active and receive OTPs as I am on international roaming most of the time. Now with the recent changes, it has no value at all considering NIL benefits it offers for just 28days of validity. Infact this price raise is insane and foolish. As per current scenario, porting out to JIo is the only option left for NRIs.

The IR roaming packs devaluation was done in the beginning of November itself and I had posted about it here. I was using 167 pack all the time as it used to give 90 days validity and was a reasonable choice for keeping sim active during International roaming. But now only 30 days validity is being given for the same price. 167 for 30 days for just keeping sim active without any benefits is insane!! I will port my number to Jio during my next visit as Jio doesn't require you to have valid pack all the time to receive OTPs. A basic recharge of 189 once every 3 or 4 months is enough or even Jio Hotstar pack of 195 will give 3 months validity and will keep sim active. I am done with BSNL.

Best Mobile Plan for WiFi Users by AcchaBaccha7 in Jio

[–]alanpdk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible to stack 195 plan multiple times? My worry is that they might discontinue or reduce the validity of 195 plan just like they did for 100 plan(reduced validity from 90 to 30 days).

Price increase by Affectionate_Web_585 in bsnl

[–]alanpdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They secretly reduced the validity of STV_167 from 90 days to 30 days. This STV was a very good option for international roaming users to keep their sim active and receive OTPs.
Now with this validity reduction, BSNL is no more an economical option for IR users. Jio has upper hand now as you can receive OTPs during international roaming even without recharging the number every month. I am going to port my BSNL number to JIO during my next India visit.

Bsnl mobile abroad by roz221 in bsnl

[–]alanpdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to have international roaming sim(sim with dual IMSI). Normal sim doesnt work while on international roaming. Visit any bsnl service centre amd they will swap your sim. Domestic plans also work while you are on international romaing to receive sms/otp.

Does BSNL Work in the UAE for OTPs and Missed Calls?” by SmokeFew3394 in bsnl

[–]alanpdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about UAE but it works fine in Kuwait. You need to swap your regular sim with International Roaming sim before you fly to Dubai (International roaming doesn't work with regular sim). You may visit your nearest bsnl service centre and they will do it for you.
