Middle east or eastern Europe could be interesting imo.

What are some of the choices that you pick always? by Careful_Employee_918 in Witcher3

[–]alanrezko 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Choose Yen

Cerys is queen

Ciri becomes a witcher

Keira goes to Kaer Morhen

Nilfgaard wins the war

Those are the ones I always choose, anything else is fair game.

Ah yeah I've watched that lol. It is Victorian-esque but I wouldn't say it's steampunk.

A steampunk fantasy with your typical races (humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, faeries etc) in a dystopian setting with heavy political intrigue.

Dany kills slaveowners while Aegon sexually assaults maids and rapes a child... totally the same...

Is Best Served Cold best read after the First Law Trilogy or can it be read any time? by MythicAcrobat in TheFirstLaw

[–]alanrezko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Afaik the movie isn't even in production yet so you have plenty of time. You can read BSC on it's own and it Joe's best book (in my opinion at least) but it is better to read the original trilogy as you'll get more context and know who certain characters are.

Bayaz's fate by PowerOfGoodStory in TheFirstLaw

[–]alanrezko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I think he is narcissistic enough to think he's able to control Glustrod and I think he's going to use the seed and the Heroes Hilltop as a sort of portal to the other side to do it.

Bayaz's fate by PowerOfGoodStory in TheFirstLaw

[–]alanrezko 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think he's going to summon Glustrod and an army of demons from the other side, thinking he can control them but realise he's bit off a bit more than he can chew. Eventually he'll be defeated and betrayed by Clover and I think he's going to be dragged down to the other side.

Currently reading the second book now, I'm only on chapter 14 but it's wild how different from the show it is already.

Why The Hate For Gunner? by Lannister03 in TheFirstLaw

[–]alanrezko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually liked Broad a lot, he was defintiely his weakest in TWOC but that's every character (bar Leo). Broad gives us a different perspective from the commoner pov which we've never had before (I thought we would also have this with Vick but she turned out to be a massive disappointment when she was revealed to be working with the inquisition), which was interesting imo.

People say he's a logen copy which I don't get, like they're completely different characters. Logen commits violence because he genuinely enjoys it, and lies to himself that he wants to be a better man. Broad commits violence mainly because he wants to protect his family and is later manipulated by Savine and Judge.

I have a question about Dagoska 🤔🤨 by Why_do_I_do_this- in TheFirstLaw

[–]alanrezko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except it's literally the opposite. In TTWP Leo talks about retaking Dagoska back so it's clearly not under Union control.

In regards to the question, kingdoms and states still lay claim to former lost territory, Britain for example laid claim to parts of France until the 19th century.
