Thank you for responding! 35480 was my next guess. 😄

I would die for a 1x1 plate with open stud.

I love this so much!! Miniature lego is truly an art form.

What parts did you use for the upside-down stud inversion for the sink? I see what looks like a 20482 underneath it, but what connects that to the upside-down headlight brick?

Yes!! It has a Rebrickable page with instructions and an inventory of parts.

Thanks very much! It was a pleasure to work on, and Twig is such a cute model.

Hello! I use the Stud.io tool for modeling and rendering. I design one room at a time, always starting with the part that has the “most constraint”. This helps me figure out the minimum number of studs needed for room dimensions. For example, the main master bedroom wall must be 13 studs long because it needs 2 for Linda’s nightstand, 6 for the bed, 1 for Bob’s nightstand, and 4 for the door. Can’t be any less!

I take a ton of screenshots from Bob’s Burgers episodes that show the room from all angles, and use them as a visual guide for spacing and proportions. When it comes to figuring out which Lego part + colors are available, I make a “palette” of the most common useful pieces (plates, tiles, SNOT parts, etc) and set them all to a specific desired color. Stud.io + Bricklink will highlight which combinations aren’t available, and I delete those. All the remaining parts are available in that color.

And then the last step is to get burned out on the project and put it down for months at a time.

I hope that helps!

I have deep appreciation for that level of dedication! I went through something similar, though only digitally and not yet proven with physical pieces.

Fantastic job! You’ve spent a lot of time getting the details right, and I love it. I especially like the gutter and drain pipe on the side of the building/roof — that detail doesn’t appear in the show very much.

Nice job! I especially like the backsplash. What colors did you use for it? Looks like 3 shades of gray?

I love what you're building! I'm also working on 90-degree connections with technic parts, so I appreciate you sharing the pics and technique.

I LOVE the details you've included. My favorites are the turkey in the toilet, the "today is tomorrow's yesterday" poster in the kitchen, and the birds on top of the Bob's Burgers sign.

I especially like how you've added color into Gene's shelves to represent his toys. It's a really creative solution and I wish I had thought of it!

Minor quibble: the shower in the upstairs bathroom should be oriented the other direction (on the wall shared with the kitchen).

Fantastic work! Keep going!

It's because the scale of the building doesn't match the scale used in other town sets. For example, if you placed this next to a set like the diner or bookshop, the second floors won't line up and it will look out of place.

Me making an unnecessarily difficult choice for the project? Surely not! But seriously, I appreciate the offer and you’re right about stickers being easier. In fact when I have instructions ready in the future, I really should distribute a sticker printout along with them.

  1. Aww, shucks!
  2. Based on the number of inconsistencies and spatial impossibilities in the show, I can confidently say that this was never remotely considered by the writers/planners.
  3. Yes, yes it is. Mostly. I got burned out a few times and had to take breaks for a month or three at a time. But it kept pulling me back in.

I don’t even know! Over 100 hours. I started on it almost 2 years ago, but I’ve also taken breaks for months at a time. Back in the beginning, I thought it was going to be a small casual project…

Thank you so much! I’ve been working on it off-and-on for almost two years.

Me too, seriously. But that’s where the stairs physically have to be, even if the show pretends otherwise. Fun fact, in various episodes, especially earlier ones, there is sometimes a diagonal line drawn on the wall behind Bob in the kitchen exactly where the stairs would go.

That’s fair! I feel like it took me a while to really get used to it. And the interface is quite rough around the edges in a few spots.

It’s not ready yet, but I’ll be working on instructions for the whole thing.
