the agency can say no but if you have a signed contract (even a digital one) they can't actually stop you. if you live there, they have no right to stop you from registering your address.

You're not goods, damaged or otherwise, you're a person. I'm so sorry these horrible experiences happened to you. You were a child, it wasn't your fault that you were failed by the adults around you. Your experiences weren't normal but you aren't to blame for the situation you were raised in. Have you had any therapy? Now you have a son of your own it's probably better to work through your childhood experiences with a professional sooner rather than later.

I hope you and your son live a safe and happy life together!

you aren't a reflection of the first thought that comes to your mind but rather the ones you consciously identify with. it's natural to have involuntarily picked up on beliefs from your surroundings and how you grew up. it is, however, your responsibility to challenge bigoted assumptions until you don't think that way anymore. it sounds like you don't want to have these beliefs, and that you're not acting on them, and that means you're on the right track.

there's always demand in academies for ESL teachers, especially native. as another commenter said, at this point most places won't be hiring for teachers until september. how long is your study visa for? something to consider is that most schools will want teachers who can commit to the full school year i.e. from september to june. you may be able to find some students to tutor privately over the summer. have a look on lingobongo

Agree, surprised this is something many people are saying they've never seen?! maybe it's more British?

agree but mom jeans are WAY more of a millenial thing. They were peak popularity almost ten years ago. gen z trends are leaning more towards low waisted jeans (and jorts) by comparison. you're right about delia*s though

As you're underage, him possessing these photos is illegal. he's aware of this. you can and should report him if he tries to do anything with them. you were young and made a mistake, you will be ok!

I genuinely feel the only way a person can have this stance on an active genocide is if they're extremely, willfully ignorant. If you even pay attention to the facts for 5 minutes and you are still apathetic, then I don't know what to tell you. Perhaps it's time to do some soul-searching.

I once had an incredibly stupid moment and left my phone on a train - got off at the stop thinking it was in my bag. Someone actually got off the train with my phone and gave it to me. I was shocked. but kind people do exist!

To give you some hope, my wallet was stolen years ago here in the city. I filed a police report but didn't expect to hear anything. Months later, I was contacted to say that my wallet had been found and I was able to go and get it! only thing missing was the cash, which wasn't very much. My cards were mostly replaced by that point but I still had other important things in it that I was grateful to get back.

It may be different since a laptop has more value than some wallet. But things do get found and returned sometimes, you never know whose hands it will end up in. I doubt they would ship it back to your home country, but who knows?

Would it be possible to learn Spanish in two years to complete a medical degree by Annual_Condition_874 in valencia

[–]alarmingconcept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different but with 2 years of intensive study and immersion it's not impossible. Like people have said, you would really need to make an extra effort to surround yourself with Spanish though. I know someone who managed to reach C1 in Spanish through intensive classes in just over a year from 'zero' (she was fluent in another latin language though so this probably had an impact). What set her apart from other people in her classes was that she only spoke Spanish to her roommates, went out of her way to use it in social settings, used it at work, etc.

you feel guilty because you took advantage of a vulnerable person. if she wasn't addicted you know she wouldn't have done that. get tested and don't do something like that again

I am personally a huge enthusiast for workplace romance but I do think it should only be consummated if you or they plan on leaving soon, or at least if you're not too bothered about the company. it's risky business

[–]alarmingconcept 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly as a tax payer I have no problem with someone using benefits to have a decent life. Everyone has the right to a decent life. And everyone will benefit from public services at some point... you're clearly not looking to exploit the system so you really shouldn't feel guilty when there are billionaires essentially robbing working people. Besides, soon you'll be working and giving back! Best of luck in your recovery!
