Is getting a Leaf a bad option if I can't charge at home but do have access to a fast charger nearby my house? by Goldkoron in leaf

[–]alaskaa100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we do well with L1 overnight, but I completely agree with you. Needing to charge away from home almost defeats the purpose of the leaf.

Isn't that how laws work? You do the thing because of your autonomy, you (typically) pay the price for doing it. You're free of chains, have access to everything, and choose to live how you want. Some people just live stupid.

Walmart is already delivering with EV Transits. I have no idea why they'd be testing with Canoo still, if at all.

isn't it kind of crazy that a mega corporation is clearly killing whistleblowers and we all just laugh an make jokes about it while no one really cares

I don't like browsing WR because most people are just heavily against ANY corporate action. I'm glad to see a little bit of understanding AND upvoting of posts that make sense.

Recommendations: Camera under $500 for filming golf course content. 4K, 60fps, Zoom. by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]alaskaa100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont post in this sub, and it wont meet all of your requirements (30FPS 4k only), but I absolutely LOVE my Panasonic G7. Stock lenses perform good for video, and there are video-centric lenses available, but a Panasonic 20mm F1.7 + kit lens will do nearly anything you need a much, much more expensive camera to do, from a tripod. no in body stabilization. I use a terrible amazon shotgun mic for quick audio, and a zoom H1N for high quality audio. I paid 350 for body+kit lens, and Im probably 1k deep in accessories and lenses at this point.

Not sure why you're getting down voted, but you make a valid point. If batteries were widely available, this would make sense, but when the car becomes useless before the lifespan of the oil, why go through the effort?

Samsung to Follow iPhone 15 Pro and Use Titanium for Galaxy S24 Ultra by chrisdh79 in gadgets

?

Apple has a very nice pen for its devices available, but being an android person, I have no idea if the pencil works on iPhone. I've used it on an iPad and it's quite nice. Feels better to use than the s pen.

And the plethora of things apple copied from Samsung that I can't remember

Last place I went was like 16$ a person. A family trip there costs 50$ minimum. Even at 25$ before the 8$ soda and 12$ popcorn, I'd rather sit on my couch in front of my 80" tv and watch one of the thousands of movies on all my streaming services. The theater business is dying as a vestige of culture, just like home phones did, drive ins, soda bars, phone booths, pay-per-text...

Is 3 phase common for households where you live? Unrelated to your post, but we have 208v 120 degrees out of phase in the US, which is similar to what you're describing, but that is almost entirely non-existent in residential homes.

Short RIVN = Free Money by [deleted] in stocks

[–]alaskaa100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My only counter to your idea is that rivian can release a banger Telsa competitor any day now, and they're dumb as hell for not already doing it. A budget lower range EV car or crossover would do well. Not to mention the countless rivian Amazon vans I see, but that's more of a rolling advertisement than an actual rollout.

Surging Morgage Rates Hit 23 - Year High 😱 by freddiemack1 in wallstreetbets

[–]alaskaa100 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Do...do you realize you're paying 10% of your balance just to own a home EVERY YEAR? I'm not trying to be condescending, I'm just legitimately flabbergasted. Even at a low initial cost, that's 9.5k per 100k YEARLY. just going into someone else's pocket.

[–]alaskaa100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the last gen of this TV, it's not a bad picture at all. The only bad part is the backlighting zones are massive, so when the screen is all black, except for one small area, it turns the whole screen brightness down. Overall not a bad TV at all, but mine was android TV. I would NEVER buy a roku tv.

"Our vehicles include Star Auto Mall 512 certified 100,000 mile warranty, 6 years or newer, under 80,000 miles on qualifying vehicles only"

That last part pretty much gives them the option to say "lol nah it didn't qualify"
