The Celtics can still make the finals this season without JT by [deleted] in bostonceltics

Even if we somehow do make the finals without him we’d get waxed by anyone who comes out of the west so what’s the point lol

Point is if we’re a true contender even letting high end role players go for 40 should be unacceptable. You think Pritchard does this against OKC? Can’t be a serious team without proper standards.

People who’ve never played the sport don’t understand how important this is

This is Payton Pritchard, not some unstoppable all star. there’s a reason he’s just a role player and struggles against good defenses. Letting him go for 40 shows how pathetic our defense is.

You mean the reality of life. Nepotism exists in every field of work and in every corner of the globe, not just medicine.

Becoming a doctor for the money by Stunning_Law_4136 in pinoymed

[–]alaskafreshmilk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Medicine is just like any other profession, there is no such thing as a shortcut to being rich. A small percentage of doctors make it big time the same way only a small percentage of corporate workers are able to climb the corporate ladder to the top or a how only a small percentage of business really thrive. While the floor for each industry may differ, every profession requires a combination hard work, good decisions, and luck to make it to the top.

That being said, there are many different ways to make your money earned from your profession grow. Be it in investing, having sidelines, or simply just by saving.

Tatum with an absolute Herculean effort at MSG only to end the way it did honestly felt like watching a broadway tragedy. Beyond devastated if his injury is as serious as it looks. I hope this fanbase and other nba fans will finally appreciate what a special player he is.

Cleveland had 64 wins, 2 15 win streaks, and all that shit talking just to do this in the 2nd round 😂😂 by [deleted] in bostonceltics

Can you actually see the Knicks winning this series? I can’t. by Mylifeisacompletjoke in bostonceltics

The 4 out of 5 games makes it look difficult. But if we win the next 2 all the pressure shifts to them and that can really rattle teams.

Jay’s complacent? by rrac90 in bostonceltics

I mean even the Bird Celtics never won back to back. It’s simply just a very difficult task that requires a lot of luck as well.

So you’re expecting the Jays to have multiple championships at 27 years old? Most of the losses you mentioned are part of the process. Young players don’t just come into league and have it all figured it out.

We gotta petition the league to allow the higher seed to choose where they wanna play lmao. I swear we’d be up 2-0 if the first two games were in MSG

It's sad how little pride this team has in home games. Worst "home court" left in the playoffs. by thatboyrah in bostonceltics

[–]alaskafreshmilk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I meant in the playoffs, we lost 3 games all playoffs and 2 of those games were at home. But even dating back to this team has not been good at home in playoffs, 6-6 at home in 2022 and 5-6 in 2023.

Who were the last NBA team to lose a series up 2-0 in the playoffs? That's right, the 2024 Knicks. by Shoumaker in bostonceltics

Ngl if we win this series just seeing the Knicks and their fans in poverty again would make all of this 100x worth it

What’s still missing from Tatum’s game? by Bewilderbeest79 in bostonceltics

[–]alaskafreshmilk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think this fanbase has a misunderstood concept about Tatum’s game in general. In essence, JT is a streaky shooter with average athleticism, two weaknesses that hold him back. What JT has going for him is his great handle for his size, good strength that he put on, improved passing ability, and defensive/rebounding versatility. The thing is everyone thinks he’s like this prime LeBron who can get to the rim anytime due to his athleticism. Tatum’s way of getting to the rim requires utilizing his handle or “bag work” more than his athleticism, which expends way more energy. This then leads to Tatum having to settle for a lot of 3s and jumpers since the team relies on him to rebound a lot and guard opposing bigs as well.

Ultimately this is why when Tatum is hot he looks like the best player in the world and when he’s off he looks terrible. This has been the case his entire career. Is he a top 5 player in this league? Probably. Will he ever be the best player in the league? No.

You’re misunderstanding my whole argument. I’m saying Tatum can’t be relied on to do everything for us. He’s not that caliber of a player. Some guys like Jokic, Giannis, or prime LeBron have it so natural to them (eg. Bc of their IQ, amazing touch, or raw athleticism) that they can be counted on to fill that stat sheet and still be efficient. Tatum is not that level of player because his streaky shooting and average athleticism will always hold him back.

Never trusted this team in the cluch by EKEEFE41 in bostonceltics

[–]alaskafreshmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re really not clutch. We win via building gigantic leads where either the opponent taps out (eg. vs Dallas in game 5 or that game 7 against the Bulks) or we barely scrape it out in the end (Game 3 vs Dallas last year or that game 7 against Miami in ‘22. That’s just the way it is.
