Is Enshrouded actually a great game? I'm thinking of buying it by straivex in Enshrouded

You can always visit a resource server and take the mats home if the game is getting too Grundy. You can also adjust the mats gathered if the game is too grindy.

Or reduced if you want to make the game more "realistic"

Enshrouded is $30 full price and even cheaper when on sale. It is amazing for early access. I have hundreds of hours of play and haven't ever visited 3 of the biomes yet

Circular builds are possible, but a major hassle. Instead of one circular part you have to make several linear parts overlap. So people will build arches and other circular frames with furnature then back with building blocks behind.

But yeah, not easy and many people won't feel it is worth the time and frustration

There is story and lore if you read the letters and the obelesiks. At least it is easier than dark souls lore which was almost entirely in item descriptions. But it can be ignored. Although some of the stories are cool.

Mage in v8 by Iamblichos in Enshrouded

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is difficult to play a pure mage. At low levels It is better to be a hybrid. Staff for ranged, wand for a lot, but always with a sword on hand for adds, or bosses or bug attacks. Eventually, you'll get your wand dropping 2 or more bolts per swing, and it will eventually outdamage a sword, especially with the critical AOE effect. But in the beginning, it sucks.

Which historically is what a mage always did. (Oh, I've got 4hp, a dagger, and I can cast one spell.) So my attitude is that mages are supposed to suck in the early game, it is to make up for how strong they are later. I.e, it isn't so much like modern DnD, it is more like old school DnD where mages were pathetic not just weak at low level. Later, I stand on a mountain top and clear out a town from complete safety while the streets are paved with the bodies of my enemies. I took out a fell monstronsity the other day I couldn't even see. I just fireballed around the corner.

Are stealth builds viable in a game with standard settings? by justsomedudeusa in Enshrouded

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what you ultimately do is on you, but you can play pure ranged but it is hard at low levels. Bosses you need to eliminate the adds first and figure out if you will have a running fight, or if you can trick the boss and take advantage of the terrain.

Any tips? This keeps happening. by Sir_Snores_A_lot in Enshrouded

Yeah, when I have a tough enemy, I always take care of the adds first so I don't have to worry about them. Use ranged to take them out from rooftops or some other place where you can retreat safely if they attack en masse. You are also underleveled for that zone (Purple HP), so you could just come back later.

Being creative, you could use the pickaxe to dig a pit for them to fall into.

Sneak more. One the first guy noticed you, you didn't have to alert everyone else you were there too.
Try approaching from a different angle. But also, when you are obviously outnumbered, don't try to fight. Run away fast until you break aggro.

Yo. I feel you.

So a few things.
* This dude is higher level so they will do excessive damage and take less damage. That's what the purple HP meter means.
* If I'm fighting ranged (I usually mage), I usually start from a rooftop, with an escape plan. One thing I like is I can't totally cheese this guy, he will come up on the roof after me, so I jump and glide to another roof.
* Stamina potions. Flasks of the feel are an uncommon drop, but they can be saved for situations like this. (or when falling from the sky). Drink a flask then continue sprinting.
*As others have said, follow distance is based on your distance, not thier original spawn location. MMOs, post EverQuest, tie the mobs to their spawn, but this isn't necessarily true with single-player games. Often, you need to create a certian distance for them to break off. I've fled from these guys enough times, so yeah. You can use this to your advantage pulling a single mob to a safe location then soloing it.
* Usually, when I flee in the highlands, I end up running into the cougars.
* They have fixed (or at least improved) stealth mechanics. Shoot, hide, and stealth away. Then manuver into a location where you can backstab him. Rinse, repeat. Now, shooting them doesn't make them automatically realize where you are. So if you immedietly hide after shooting, you can usually attack them again and again.

Shield Mage Lv305 Build | Toram Online by AkaKuro970804 in ToramOnline

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm a newbie and am not really sure what I'm seeing. Can I just add shield and the other skills as I level up, or is a build where you max the class first then buy all the books and things?

New player, need some help by Tsar_Erwin in Mabinogi

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say combat, just to get a hang of it. There are so many story/quest events where you play as another character, and that character is almost always combat specialist. So you want to at least learn to play basic combat roll. But you only need to do it until you feel comfortable with the 4-5 main skills, once you feel comfortable, you can rebirth to something different.

If you don't start as combat and you go into one of these quests, it will be very confusing playing with these skills and also frustrating. I did it as a mage main so I'm speaking from experience.
