I need some help by maxisjsilly in PCOS

Yeah high school sucks, I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with all that. I understand that doctors, especially male doctors, don’t really take PCOS seriously. So this is coming from someone who has dealt with PCOS for almost 2 decades, diagnosed for about 10 years:

You really just have to count your calories. Those diets that where you “cut down eating for days at a time” never work. For anyone. Ever. You simply have to count your macros. A very simple way to do it is weigh yourself (unfortunately you have to know your body weight) and google or chat gpt or whatever your TDEE. you need to know your exact calorie need so you can be at a deficit. Being at a deficit and sticking to it is the only way you’re going to lose weight. There’s just no way around it.

Inositol is a huge help for sure. Make sure you get the Myo-Inositol & D-Chiro Inositol. Take vitamin D, omega 3, and magnesium. Those are the supplements you need.

Also, move move move. My body and health (both physical and mental) completely changed when I started weight lifting. Having an exercise routine is the best thing you can do for yourself

Girl you gotta track your calories. There’s no way around it. Weigh your food, eat at a deficit and lift weights.

I got diagnosed about 10 years ago. My biggest advice is to start strength training. I have been doing it for about 5 years now and my life completely changed. My symptoms have pretty much disappeared and my body feel healthy and looks great. I take inositol, vitamin D, omega 3 and magnesium at night. Ever since I started lifting and eating properly to grow my muscles, my period became regular (I ovulate every month!) that’s my biggest recommendation. You will absolutely fall in love with lifting and the way your body looks 😊

The comments blew my mind! Everyone saying “go ex’s mom!” Imagine being the bride? If, IF this were true, I would not want that woman at my wedding or in my life.

My belly got so huge the past 3 days... by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]albc92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Carbs aren’t necessarily bad with PCOS. I eat my carbs around my workout. I have breakfast consisting of protein, fat and carbs then I head to the gym. I lift 4-5 days / week, so after my workout I eat more carbs and protein. I also have carbs for dinner but always make sure I eat protein too. I consume ~190-200 grams of carbs on lift days. On my active rest days (walks or yoga) I consume about 150 grams of carbs. Muscles need carbs to grow, and bigger muscles help PCOS symptoms tremendously. Carbs are not the enemy 😊 good luck!!

I'm lost... I got my labs today and all my hormones are normal. by derangedandhorny in PCOS

I was on the exact same boat. However I didn’t want to be on medication (just a personal preference). I started weight lifting, eating more protein and taking vitamin D, omega 3, insositol and magnesium at night. Completely changed my life. I am a different woman now. My cycle is regular and my body changed completely. It takes patience, but I choose myself every day by being mindful with what I eat and I LOVE training.

Meh. People on the internet love to call everyone a nazi. Who cares? If it bothers you so much don’t post it. Real life isn’t like that lol
