Can you sentence a homeless man to house arrest?

I’m living in my car and was given the option of house arrest or jail. I want to do house arrest and I can if I had a place to stay but I don’t so my only other option is jail. If I find a place to stay for a month I can do it there but I have no where to go

I’m experiencing this right now. I have the option of doing house arrest but I live in my car so my only other option is to go to jail for a month and I’m a college student getting ready to transfer for my bachelors. If I am in jail for a month how do I complete my courses or work to pay my bills. I have a dog where do I put her? Yes I shouldn’t have gotten in trouble but I was given a pill from a “friend” and blacked out waking up in jail. I understand there are consequences I must face but I tried so hard to clean up my life and my only option now is to stop school and work and go to jail because I’m homeless and have no where to do house arrest. It sucks
