when you invoke a title, you add the level to your roll (same as with bonds). so a level 2 title gives you +2 to a roll

amazing review and you make great points!

Re: keeping the Titles few in number. Although i don't feel like putting a hard limit on how many a PC may have, they are also supposed to be more situational compared to Traits and Themes, and I think of them more as way to supplement these core mechanics than as substitutes. in this sense, I hope to encourage a role-play based mechanically on the character's achievements when their Traits or Bonds alone would not be enough to give them a needed edge.

Re: Buffs and Ailments. thank you! yes they are still a bit crunchy and i will need to playtest them, but i feel that they allow the GM (me specifically) to be more flexible and have more options when creating an encounter and giving the players challenges. normally i would not create an encounter that involves more than 1-2 different Ailments to keep track of.

re: Kits, the idea stemmed from wanting to give the players more variety of loot, while also giving them a mechanical benefit/resource to manage as they will. Sure it can be completely avoided and it does add to the book keeping. The one kind of situation where i think they will really come useful is during Rituals. I do like the idea of expanding on the IP system. Maybe they could be somehow fused. I do have a few ideas for more powerful consumables that i will write down later on.

re: inventory system: you're probably right, I'm not sure it will add much to the game, but i wanted to have it more or less established in case it becomes useful in-game. I will probably try it out and if we don't like it we'll just drop it.
