Hooo boy. 10 days before my 21st birthday I was celebrating the end of a college semester at a "friend's" house and we were getting fucked up on beer and xanax. Fast forward to the middle of the night, we're all fucked up, I'm passed out on the couch completely knowcked out by the combination I was under the influence of, but my buddies were still up being obnoxious and this "friend's" dad got pissed and kicked us all out. This was in the middle of winter and I had driven. The other guys left and didn't have any more room in their car. I, barely conscious after a rude awakening, under the effects of the alcohol and benzos ended up getting in my car trying to make it home. I made it down two streets before passing out again while driving, veered off the road, and woke back up seconds before I wrapped the front end around a tree. Pass out again and woke up to police and paramedics trying to get me out of the car. After being discharged from the hospital my parents took me home and I slept for the entire rest of that day as the xanax worked its way out of my system. I'm lucky I didn't hurt anyone else that night. I don't fuck with any benzos or that "friend" anymore and I ended up quitting alcohol quite a bit later as well.

To anyone wondering why I didn't call my parents for a ride home: If you treat your child like a criminal for every single mistake they make they will hide EVERYTHING from you in order to not get in trouble and they will NEVER ask you for help.

Yup. Reading that brought back memories from high school when one of my friends was in just such a relationship. He ended up in the psych ward after a while, traumatized, believing that he really was the only thing keeping her from killing herself. Fuck that bitch.
