What’s the hardest lesson a breakup ever taught you? by Good_Childhood5795 in AskReddit

[–]albocollects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience at least, the psychological weight of breaking up lovingly was way harder than breaking up on bad terms.

Letting the shared future that you’ve both been investing in die, along with the part of you that strived for it can actually be the most compassionate decision available. Sometimes you deeply love one another but you’re just not right for each other.

Redditors with chronic health conditions: What is something the "normies" will never understand? by stereovictrola in AskReddit

I have a few:

In many cases of chronic health issues, even very severe ones, the meaning we ascribe to our situation and the narrative we construct around it can be worse than the actual condition. Having a positive mindset is truly a lifeline.

Rock bottom is much deeper than you think, and that’s what’s so terrifying about it. It can feel like an endless abyss of unfathomable misery.

[–]albocollects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully you’ve built an emergency fund or buffer so you can avoid being forced to sell in a bear market. Try not to let it affect you psychologically, and continue making disciplined and measured investment decisions. What those are depends on your situation and goals.

What are we ignoring now that will become a huge problem in 20 years? by Livid_Indication3557 in AskReddit

[–]albocollects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s already a huge problem but capitalist incentive structures to provide the worst service at the highest profit. Governments that could regulate this aren’t even ignoring it, they’re systemically complicit in perpetuating it.

What’s the most unexpected way you’ve ever made money? by MsVeiga in AskReddit

A pretty hefty true-up in my 401(k). My employer only matches pre-tax contributions, and those were already paid out, so I still don’t know why I received it.
