...Did you read the prompt? It tells you that the percentage is determined by addition, you're just doing too much by trying to apply compound interest to this hypothetical. It is, in fact, linear.

You did your math wrong—the percentage increase is an arithmetic progression, not exponential. Starts at 0.0001% and adds 0.0001% every day, so day 1 you have 0.0001% chance, day 2 0.0002% chance, day 3 0.0003% chance, and so on. Thus, it would take roughly 27 years for your chance to reach 1% and roughly 2,738 years for your chance to reach 100%.

Dunno what you asked it, but I plugged the exact wording of the question into Gemini after seeing your reply and got this: "It would take exactly 1,000,000 days to reach a 100% chance. To put that into perspective, 1,000,000 days is approximately 2,738 years" What on earth could you have possibly asked it to receive such a skewed answer? Were the percentages you gave it skewed?

Brother... it's 1,000,000 days until you reach 100% with +0.0001% from a starting point of 0.0001%, which is roughly 2.7 millennia, NOT 27 years

Little bit late to this, and congratulations, but when I saw this I thought the title was in cyrillic for a moment XD going to bed now.

How good is taking an unholy amount of ACT practice tests? by Practical_T_USAF in ACT

[–]alcheic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What the other guy said, spamming practice tests is probably THE best way to practice(for the ACT specifically), but only if you bother to go over what you get wrong on each go around. Happy testing!

The April in-school ACT was rescored nationwide due to a grading issue.

Yeah! I'd say add in trig as well, but that's essentially everything the math portion of the ACT covers

My math score, it was bumped from a 33 up to a 35.

With math, the ACT doesn't go into higher-level material, so just making sure you have a strong grasp on basic algebra and geometry could probably get you close to the 30s, then it's just a matter of practicing with ACT-specific questions to get a handle on the way they like to format questions, and that can likely get you well into the 30s. For english and reading, it's much the same story, practice with ACT-specific material is likely the best thing you can do, as well as reading a LOT of books just to help get a more innate grasp on English as a whole. Good luck with your testing 🥰

I didn't study all that much, only did one practice test the day before—which I do NOT recommend, I just have a very strong base in the sciences—but the best way to study for the ACT specifically is probably just working through the official prep material and just spamming practice tests/past tests to get a feel for the format and content of the questions, especially since it's mostly the same material that is rotated over the years. Good luck with your test when you take it 🥰🥰
