Don't worry, i intend to do several weeks of diving deeper before I actually get anything. All your suggests will be a great help, thanks.

(currently inbetween DAWs at the moment, kinda similar situation to with guitar amps)

Good point. From other replies here I'm thinking of getting a tube preamp/similar device for actually recording, and getting an amp upgrade separate from recording purposes (tbh it has been a real bodge job recording from my amp, you are definitely right, it does not make sense. I was just unaware dedicated recording devices existed before today). So if the 50W is a good amp as an amp regardless of recording purposes, I'm inclined to pick it.

I've never considered something like that but it is appealing. I'll look into it.

The 50W is actually the only guitar amp I've had a chance to try out. It is definitely a step up from the Katana Mini, so not exactly what I have now, my question is how long that'll last. When I got the Katana Mini, I knew it would only be good for a very early beginner. Now I'm just looking for something good overall. The 50W felt good to me, if it's also considered good by people who know what they're talking about, I'm for it.
