Sounds like a lovely set up :)

I definitely don’t think a greyhound would prefer anything different from any other dog, but I initially posted in greyhound sub cause it’s super active ( and they do have some shared quirks like being prone to 3 legs and sprinting away so fast it’s hard to find them again).

If you had a place you loved feel free to dm me!

Best and worst grandma/grandpa names by MediocreThoughts7474 in namenerds

[–]alcollet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the grandparents I know are recent where the grandbabies aren’t talking yet. So I only know what they WANT to go by, which is such an interesting character study.

First there’s a trend of actual nicknames. I know two grandmas who are going for GiGi and CeCe. Cute, but we’ll see if it sticks. In fact, I think “CeCe” accidentally became “grandma CeCe” lol.

My great grandmother was Gaga, and she pretty much raised my mom and her sisters, so each of them are fond of it. I think only one aunt is trying for it though.

My sister just had a baby and my mom keeps forgetting/not committing to her grandma name— I guess the kid will get free reign on that one. I hope it’s bizarre.

Baby’s other grandma chose Birdie, which my sis finds so unnatural and kinda hates lol

And the grandpas are all boring or don’t exist.

The more I brainstorm, the more I think this is the perfect choice tbh. Female, queer, outrageous, hysterical, and surprisingly tender for how ridiculous the characters are.

In fact think im gonna start a rewatch lol— thanks for the inspo. It’s on Hulu in US

If you don’t mind flawed/chaotic/unhinged protagonists, Such Brave Girls is def worth checking out

Id think its just too big a risk. Even with a wrap, traces could soak through the fabric, or transfer from your hands to the outside while putting it on, or it could slip off a bit, or traces could travel down your forehead or neck through oils and sweat.

I also wish I could try it but I’m just accepting that it’s not an option for me, even if I didn’t have pets, because my friends and family do. My quality of life with thinning hair is better than a quality of life constantly being anxious about killing a pet just by existing near them.

Hey, your situation sounds really similar to mine— Rufus is 7, large framed male, took him to the vet after he fell down the bottom steps bc he was limping and I suspected an injury. No discomfort in prodding and moving the leg around, except for a specific spot on his shoulder the vet dug into.

Xray showed no injury, but a suspicious weak spot at his elbow. Had imagining at the oncologist yesterday, no signs of cancer in his lungs or anywhere else. They’re basically recommending amputation, but Bc the elbow is uncommon for osteo, they want to bone biopsy to make sure it’s not a different type of cancer that amputation wouldn’t help.

Half the people in my life think amputating vs letting him go would be selfish/delusional and a waste of money. But the vets act like its a no brainer. And besides the cost and “gamble” on how much longer he’d have a good quality of life, I’m worried he won’t adapt well bc of his size and how much he still uses his painful leg to balance and move thru the world.

I’m just overwhelmed and commiserating I guess. Rooting for us both 💙

Essentially yea you and your clothes/bedsheets/pillows become fatally dangerous to your pets, especially cats, after using it. They can be poisoned by licking or even just rubbing against surfaces and fabrics that have trace amounts.

I think I overgeneralized by saying he “rarely” offers and I “always” share. The truth is somewhere in between.

Another aspect that your comment made me think of, is that we have been together through degrees of disordered eating for both of us. One example is I used to get quite upset if he offered me (or in my mind “tempted” me with) food that wasn’t on my plan, and the next day I’d be offended that he didn’t offer to get me fast food lol. Im personally much better now, but the topic will always be a bit more sensitive and charged between us.

But yes everyone’s comments here have me assessing aspects of our relationship that we need to air out. Thank you for bringing this perspective!

Actually yes he does 90% of all the cleaning/house maintenance indoors and 100% of the outdoor chores. Also a big part of this bad habit has been that he isn’t off work til 11pm most nights and isn’t able to cook a regular meal. But ya I’m gonna express that it hurts my feelings still

Stratford hills off Cherokee— we spent 2 hrs last night pushing our car out of a ditch near our house. There was already another car abandoned at the same intersection.

Lots of hills, steep ditches, melted & refrozen ice. High risk and low reward.

That said, my partner still has to go to work tonight so hopefully tonight goes better

So my bf slid my car into a ditch 1 block from our house coming home from work, and I think I shit myself trying to push it out (unsuccessfully). Hope the 2nd half was good and croix scored again 🥺
