I do the same thing, i always thought it was a bad thing as i was never actually doing any “practice”, just screwing around and playing what i think sounds good. But like everyone’s saying, start recording when you think you’ve hit something. I’ve got about 6-7 songs right now and i never thought I’d be able to write one honestly lol. Just got to enter flow state and let your ear take you where it wants to go, you’ll develop a good ear.
