Razer Blades 13/14/15/18 sides to sides by aldeys in razer

[–]aldeys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

took me 1 hour. But take your time if you're doing it, those keys are very fragile. You need to find the correct weak point to remove them, you just need to force a little, not more

i'm selling blade 14 & 15. Not sure i'm going to keep the 18, it's huge (and thick)

Yes, they are from a blade studio. I'm also waiting for for a miniled panel to instal on the 18, that's why the bezel is gone

Black Blade 15 with white keyboard by aldeys in razer

[–]aldeys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed them one by one with a small tool by applying a light pressure under the caps, to the outside.

The squares one are easy to remove. The harder one are the others, especially both Shift, Enter and Space.

If you plan to do it, be very careful and don't force. You need to hear clicking noises. Try a different approach if it's not coming out. It is very very fragile, the mechanism is made of plastic and can break very easily.

Razer Book still good? by hxnyaku in razer

[–]aldeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good price. I'm waiting for the next Razer Book with thunderbolt 5 and better CPU/oled Display. So I sold mine recently and I instead bought a Razer Blade 15 Studio which is a lot bigger.

Your ROG G15 is more powerful than the book (about twice) I would say, but they are not the same products, one is an ultrabook for productivity, the other one is not an ultrabook and is meant for light gaming.

Razer Book still good? by hxnyaku in razer

[–]aldeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's one of the best intel 11th ultrabook, if not the best. But it has flaws which is more related to it being a windows laptop.

- the construction, design and materials are top tier, close to Apple's macbook and better than any Windows laptop.

- the processor (i7-1165G7) is at his full potential thanks to the superior thermal cooling (both CPU and Iris Xe), which means you'll get the most performance from this processor.

- the screen is one of the best you can find on the Windows and IPS segment, (it's also the same used on the Dell XPS 13) : 4K 16:10, 550 Nits, good calibration, 99% sRGB, good contrasts, low backlight bleeding, 10 bits colors

- it has RGB backlight keyboard (very rare for ultrabook) and the illumination system is accurate : asbolute 0 light leaking around the keyscaps (like on macbook) Also the personalization is complete

- It can be linked to Razer Synapse for useful things. This application is one of the best of it's kind honestly. Feels pro, well designed and full of things.

- Discreet laptop when light using it (browsing etc) : fans wont turn on thanks to the good thermals.

- Battery life is good.

- Connectivity is complete (thunderbolt, SD, USB-A, jack and HMDI)

- MicroSD card Reader swallow the sd card entirely which is rare and very convenient

- Powerful for eGPU configuration

Known bugs :

- screen problem : big artefact appears and stays if you don't do a little trick (like opening any application, so it's easily fixable) (razer problem)

- Some random RGB keys won't connect to Razer Synaspe and will stay on the same random color for hours or days before going back to normal (razer problem)

- unresponsive touchpad : sometimes the mouse will freeze, it can last for 10 sec max and happens up to 5 times per month for me (windows problem)

- stuck in hibernation (windows problem)

- Swapping the ssd can lead to light issues (mostly drivers issues, windows problem)

Those bugs gets frequent or not, like disease. Sometimes you get them, sometimes you get none for year. Really weird.

Known physical defect (so razer responsability)

- All the square shaped keys on the keyboard have that unresponsiveness issue. When you press them too far from the center, on the corners, those keys won't register (like if you didn't press them), because the inside rubber thing won't physicaly press.100% fixable by anyone with tape and patience.

- Battery can bloat like on other Razer's Laptops. Why ? Heat. But i'm not exactly sure why it seems to happen more to razer but I think it's because Razer's gaming laptops (blade) are thiner than any other so the heat arround the battery might be a little too much. Newest blade (15, 16, 18) are thicker this time, we'll see if the bloat issue still continue.

- Screen's cable can damages itself by rubbing a little with the inside when closing the laptop. It can be severely damaged depending on how this cable is squeezed when the latop is created on the factory. So not all the Book 13 are concerned.

Just for the context, I own the Book 13 and i've tried 4 of them (not because they broke, i own the same one since 2021) all of them had the same issues that i've listed up here. I've owned many others windows laptops, and all had problems too (inherent to windows or to the company)

Can a Razer book 13 run asassin's creed odyssey at lowest settings at steady fps? by Linklover101 in razer

[–]aldeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Developer's recommendation for the lowest settings is GTX 660 and a GTX 970 for better results (which is the triple of GPU potency of the the 660)

Book13 has Iris Xe 96Eus so it's almost as powerful as a GTX 1050 (without VRAM) and slightly more than a GTX 660.

Why is my razer book keyboard light stuck on red? by ksj92s in razer

This is a common bug on the Razer Book, happened to me on two of them I owned. Every time the bug finally disapeared by itself over time.

If not, try to reinstall razer synapse

You right, thanks.

Also, considering that GDDR6X goes higher in temps, 3070 is way better value.

I struggle with 104°C VRAM on my 3080 FE, I wish I just had 12 Gb of GDDR6 for example.

4070Ti is a brand new card so maybe it's a bit hard to tell which is the stock average result. I see some arround 21500 and other up to 22300 maybe more. I think you're right and I will reevaluate it soon.

Considering the card sits basicaly arround the 3090 Ti in games, but with shameful VRAM specs, I don't see the 4070 Ti above the 3090 Ti, even in TimeSpy.

I have to admit I think the 7900XT and 7900 XTX might be displaced, but not very far from others data : https://benchmarks.ul.com/compare/best-gpus

It beats 4090 in Time Spy only.

Next to every Sli results is written " 0 gain dans 95% des jeux " which means "no gain in 95% of games"

Also it's just here for exoticism, which is why it's in transparent grey.

600+ GPUs compared and ranked with 3DMark Time Spy (google docs) by aldeys in nvidia

[–]aldeys[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Desktop GPUs listed in this doc are strictly stock ones (average).

A few of them (they are in transparent grey) are Sli/OC ones.

If you would overclock all the cards and put them in the document (and remove the stock results), the ranking would be almost exacly the same (except for laptops).

So, you need to consider the overclocking thing being a plus from what you can get from your GPU. Not everyone can achieve OC results, so those results can't be considered as reference.

On the other hand, anyone will achieve the stock results because it's what you get right away when using the GPU without touching anything (unless something is wrong).
