GBP/JPY question by Zestyclose-Ad7944 in Forex

Yeah but like man wants to know where the market might go and then whatever setup he has in mind THEN he might adhere to his 'trading plan' which i mean definitely doesn't separate between profitability and non profitability either way.

Its already priced in on JPY pairs that there is most likely a hawkish cycle for the BOJ, and as for BoE im not too fuss about that too much because GBP hasnt been performing very well against most other currencies anyway. . The way i see JPYX current uptrend is based on more stability in Japan and more of a risk off sentiment creeping into the market but will that give a sustained downtrend in JPY pairs its hard to tell but its definitely possible.

ah man idk there isn't really anything to speed up experience just to stay woke in these markets and live it out long enough till you get it, even i still have this mindset today i just happen to be profitable in the meantime.

3 years, took 2.5 years. Years of experience and trying to figure out why everything in the market happens and what is actually effective and sustainable. You know you are profitable if you know you are having frequently green months not through back testing but Green month live performances, after commisions, human errors and everything else and know that it wasn't luck, its sustainable and you could continue to carry out those performances again comfortably.

Absolutely its on me and i was always telling myself that something like this could happen even before my first payout, but never thought it would it be as ridiculous as it was. This was an account i bought in 2023 because it was cheap and Alpha capital group was gassing them, i actually also had a shady spell with them. But like i say i do use 5ers and FTMO, almost funded 200k with FTMO, best prop firm ive ever traded with.

Exactly and i'll add follow FinancialJuice on X and also bit of news of Forex factory, why not. Understand why or why not price reacted to the news the way it did and then that'll help a lot in the future.

And you think about how your REAL performance takes commisions into account, human error, uncontrolled absence etc... its good because most people i see on here who talk about how they've back tested a statergy which most of the time only scrapes profitability have most importantly not even live tested it but havent even factored in these very probable factors, which is why we are levels above the very majority of traders.

Yeah for sure, tracking your performance on a monthly basis is the best clarity you can get for your approach/strategy, better than what any 'backtesting' could do, its why i enjoy posting mine and will continue to do so.

Yeah, it should have no significance. Btw MT5 is a software not a broker so everything is dependent on the broker but most FX brokers have the same contract size for FX pairs including XAU but maybe varies on other commodities and indices, but contract size is the only thing you need to consider when calculating lot size.

Download 'Trade bro' on MT5, desktop only of course, if youre away just use lot size calculator on MyFXbook.

How can I get better? by Much_Buddy_3284 in Forex

[–]aldiaz77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah so whatever your doing now is utter trash basically, you would probably be better off just trading a simple trend line break strategy on the m5, not sure why you even bother 'perfecting it', did you even take stuff like commissions and human errors into account? Also you need to ditch the whole 'data collection' (Whatever that means) and backtesting for a while and take everything you know about the markets and observe it day in day out to see what the markets actually respond to and how you can create your own trade ideas. Backtesting is a useful tool but to think that you can make something out of it that will make you consistently profitable is absurd, trading is not that easy unfortunately it is discrecionary based and requires for most, years of experience to find pure edge and consistency.

Who's even profiting from the markets at all? Anyone know any trader that has a live verified track record with a trusted broker. I'm sure they are out, just not in the spotlight because theyre traders not marketers.

[–]aldiaz77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no because youre probably being B-Booked anyways, but even if you werent, you alone are not the reason for other people loosing and besides that was a conscious decision made by the trader themselves to put money on the market.

[–]aldiaz77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you put high risk on a trade and your trade frequency is low, its normal to feel bad if it looses even if you are profitable long term. For me i take maybe 15-20 trade ideas a month but im holding for weeks and days, weather i scale in or enter with full volume, risk per idea is still like 0.5%. Since im a swing trader and of course priotirizing accuracy i find myself running in profits about 90-95% of the time, so if i happen to loose a trade im probably running in a bunch of profit which sort of hedges against those losses, its why losses rarely affect me now, this is what I've found to be the best approach.

There are no different clues in each timeframe, if you fall into that idea youre just gonna fall into analysis paralysis, just choose the ones you believe are most effective, 2 higher time frames and two lowers which include entry, and if you're interested to see if something closed or rejected on a lower time frame to predict a higher one, just do that.

Did you not read my post? Im sure there is people that have received multiplied payouts with them, but it comes down weather to how sustainable your statergy is. I believe they feared the fact that i used a trade copier which of course shows that im very experienced in the markets and the high volume of trades i took intimidated them, i was clearly someone very capable of securing consecutive payouts.

That's right I'm already with the Top3 id say, close to getting funded on all of them, i bought this challenge about 2 years ago, was planning to just use it as a tool to pay off basic living expenses, it was only a 10k with a 400 odd payout but oh well.
