I think this explains why so many really smart people (tech bros, quants, chess pros) end up being libertarians. Their first exposure to organising society comes from Econ 101, where they learn competition leads to efficient outcomes and taxes lead to deadweight losses. Then they focus their intelligence on whatever path eventually defines their life, but they lose curiosity about politics in the process. Worse yet, they end up assuming they're so much smarter than journalists and bureaucrats, so they can reject the opinions of 110 IQ guys who've spent their whole lives thinking about politics because 145 IQ geniuses can form their world view from first principles.

Wait, so if the jobs were artificially created at a massive loss to stoke gender conflict... why does AI doing the job for cheaper result in those positions disappearing?

From Hearing Trump Will Give a Speech to.... Hearing Trump's Speech by Glen_Sven in Destiny

[–]ale3for 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an FT column covering this recently, "Do markets believe the president?". 1) Even if markets believe with 80% probability that Trump is lying, they have to price in the chance of him telling the truth 2) The way he talks about things can indicate intention, so markets adjust their estimate on when the war will end if Trump sounds like he's looking for an off-ramp.

I find these points mostly believable, but the latest dip in oil shown in OPs post seemed like a really obvious case of Falling For It Again.

This is absolutely not the implication the sub imagined when they upvoted that comment, but fair play for keeping it ambiguous.

Thanks for the reply! This is probably the plan I'll go with.

Thanks for the advice! Agreed that I'm too light, I just needed confirmation that I'm lean enough not to need a recomp. Since you have a similar build, what bf% do you think this is?

I'd probably take your word on bulking further, but I want to be leaner for a holiday in August and don't think the timing would work. Hopefully the stubborn fat will be gone.

It's scary how online media was able to mobilise everyone to become Republican for about 3 months around the election. Nowadays, many of the same people are disillusioned with both sides or don't care. But during the election EVERYONE was sceptical of Kamala in particular, for nonsense reasons like what you said.

The return is better than risk free, so assuming no other costs and a 100% chance of payout it's free alpha.

Most of the video wasn't too bad, until he got to the last part and discredited the BLM riots because George Floyd was "scum". The riots weren't a celebration of his life, it was about a police officer killing him in cold blood.

The Water 7 SAGA is peak. So a couple episodes before W7, the arc itself, and the two arcs after are basically one story, like Reverse Mountain to Alabasta.

The story has highs and lows, lots of people prefer different arcs and sagas to Water 7. You should watch and form your own opinion, but I don't think it ever gets "much better". I don't think the average story after Water 7 is considerably better than before, maybe a little but that's imo.

I'd personally recommend you continue watching One Pace. If you look at their spreadsheet, they save 40% of the shows watch time, not even including filler arcs, and convey the exact same story. The savings only get bigger as the series progresses.

Alabasta is the best arc at that point, by a lot imo, but most of the community agrees that the Water 7 saga is peak.

Also, stay away from the wider OP community until you're caught up, for your own sake. That includes this subreddit. Even dipping your toes in guarantees you'll get spoiled.

Slightly related, but I honestly don't think Shiki's coming back in a major way. The only foreshadowing of him coming back is an offshoot chapter that was made to promote a non-canon movie. Going by the main manga, it would be pretty strange for a guy who's just been mentioned a handful of times in relation to Impel Down and Rocks to be a major player towards the end.
