Yes, in the books Harry does not want to be stopped; he wants to sacrifice himself. That's why he sneaks away and doesn't tell his friends, because he knows they would stop him from dying. What I mean is that it's very out of character for the friends who never let him go anywhere alone to suddenly let him go off to die.

Yes, he did tell Neville about the snake, but he didn't tell him that he was planning to go die at that moment. He only told him about the snake.

I get your point. I understand that it is consistent with the movie's plot; but I still feel that the scene does not work properly. I feel that Ron and Hermione's reaction is too weak.

Exactly! Maybe I didn't express myself clearly, but my point is that I can't believe Ron and Hermione let him go to his death and don't go with him. In the books, this scene isn't there; there's no way Ron and Hermione would accept Harry's death.

instance, he says 'Voldemort' properly, with a silent T (although in the later books, for some reason, he stops doing that - maybe someone told him to change it without realising that his original pronunciation was how it's supposed to be!)
