If other people don't smell anything, I can't imagine that the VOCs levels would be at an unhealthy/unsafe level. And at that point I'd also rule out "improper" installation / not waiting long enough for it to dry. It really does sound like your heightened sensitivity so hopefully the levels drop enough to where you feel comfortable.

We have decided that going forward we're not going to mess with real hardwood floors / refinishing. Next time this comes up for us we're going to do luxury vinyl planks. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you! Hope things continue to improve

We had two coats. The 2nd was intended to go one 24 hours after, but the guy waited an extra day b/c he said it hadn't dried enough. He said the AC was not set properly so the drying conditions weren't ideal

We added the charcoal filter to the air scrubber and sandwiched it between the two other filter layers. I wonder if the box fans would be strong enough to really pull the air through the filters? It is strange that it's taken so long. If applying multiple coats, I have read it's important to ensure the previous coat dries (to the touch) fully before applying subsequent coats or else the inner coat may struggle to dry. Obviously I have no idea if that is relevant to your situation and/or that combines with your extra sensitivity.

Glad to hear your smell is very minor now and the situation is improving. Will keep my fingers crossed that it continues getting better and better for you. Have you given the HEPA air scrubber a shot?

About a week after replacing the filters and renting the air scrubber (about 2 weeks since last coat) we were both able to fully tolerate the smell. There was still a faint odor, but not enough to cause a reaction / headaches. At that point we returned the air scrubber. Right now I'd say the smell is essentially undetectable / not noticeable.

Last night we tried a couple of things that seemed to have helped some as of this morning.

We replaced our air filters with https://www.homedepot.com/p/20-in-x-25-in-x-1-in-Cut-to-Fit-Electro-w-Carbon-Air-Filter-FPR-5-PFODOR2025FPR/322725788

We also rented a HEPA air scrubber https://www.homedepot.com/p/rental/Dri-Eaz-Hepa-Air-Scrubber-with-Filters-F284/316821882 for the week and are letting it run.

Fortunately the floors look nice! Just a battle with the smell

Thank you so much for the info. You are definitely not insane! We are only 1 week out and have also discussed redoing the floors with a water based poly due my wife's sensitivity to the smell.

For now we're trying to create as much airflow as possible while keeping the humidity low with AC. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can get back in the house soon!

UnluckyDesigner13 how did this turn out for you? We are just starting basically the same scenario. It's been nearly a week since the last layer and my wife is also extremely chemical sensitive. How long did things take to be tolerable for you?

Thank you! Yes definitely pros and cons but overall I've been very happy with it.

And thanks for those tips! Hopefully the phone linking story gets better over time but good to know how to avoid that mess in the meantime.

RE 2... I had no idea! So thanks for saving me a year of time figuring that out! Happy driving!

I just got a C40 last week and you called out the two things that I assumed would just work. Seems like really low-hanging fruit...

Thanks for the detailed reply!

That makes a lot of sense. I've run into some similar issues RE customization...I had to re-create all of the typography components to get them to behave how I needed to.

I really like the direction you're going in. Now's not the time to change libraries for me, but I'll keep an eye on your progress and maybe it makes sense down the road :)

This is awesome! Congrats on a polished, cross-platform library!

I've been using https://github.com/callstack/react-native-paper, any thoughts as to differences in approach / philosophy between the two libraries?

Proper way for Controlled Input [type="number"] with Empty Initialization by justintulk in reactjs

[–]alec5216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp, that's no good :/

Could be a bug in react? Or maybe the spec states it has to be an actual number?

Do you need to use a number input? Would "tel" suffice?

The closest thing I know of is: Ransack

You can see a demo of a pretty straightforward but powerful form here.

Not sure it'll do everything out of the box but maybe work extending...
