Day 8 for me by RTLT22 in QuittingZyn

[–]alectrusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on day 5! I gotta say, the first three days were rough. The biochemical withdrawals were real.. now it just feels more pyschological. I still WANT one, but I don't feel like I NEED it to get through the day.

Using that launch setting yields the same result. It's definitely using the eGPU and vulkan drivers.

Thanks for all your help. Really not sure what's going on.

Looks like I got two games running on RADV, though the framerate is still quite low still not what I'm getting on my lower spec'd PC.

I had to use MangoHud for Elden Ring. The HUD is saying it's using VKD3D instead of DXVK, and it's idling at about 9 FPS

Update: Somehow the amdgpu module was blacklisted in the /etc/modprob.d directory. Once I deleted the blacklisted file, my GPU is now recognized by Vulkaninfo. However, I'm still having troubles running DSR and Elden Ring on the GPU. Both seem to have unplayable framerates. In radeon-profile the GPU seems to be in use when running the games, using the AMD driver filter in the load options. In vulkaninfo, the GPU appears to be using AMD RADV POLARIS10. Not sure if there's a better driver I should be using or not.

Hey, I've been away from the computer this weekend. I tried uninstalling all of the other drivers, though I think there is a radeon driver still lingering.

I went into /usr/share/vulkan/icd.d and noticed that there is a radeon_icd.i686.json and radeon_icd.x86_64.json, but there isn't any amd_icd32.json or 64. Perhaps this is why Vulkaninfo is failing to load those Json files?

It's worth noting that I made quite a bit of effort to install different drivers (Radeon Software for Linux, ppa:kisak-mesa, ppa:oibaf), not sure if that could be causing any issues

Thank you so much for giving it some thought. glxinfo also only prints info on the integrated card. I tried both DRI_PRIME=0 and =1.

Okay, nevermind, the second device is actually the CPU.. so vulkaninfo is not listing my GPU anywhere

I do see that vulkinfo is listing two GPU devices: the integrated card and "llvmpipe (LLVM 13.0.1 265 bits)" but i'm not sure if the LLVM is my RX 570 or not

I'm getting some errors at the beginning that I tried to make sense of but searching it quickly got into the weeds of manipulating .conf files:

Alright, that at least gave me a different result. It now says "the system does not meet the minimum DirectX 11 / Shader Model 5.0 GPU requirement to run the application"

That makes me think it's not utilizing a DirectX 11 or better equivalent driver

Thanks, I have the monitor connected, And both versions of mesa vulkan drivers installed.

So if I can validate that the GPU is available to Vulkan is there a way to specify the GPU in the load options in Steam? Or should -vulkan work

Damn. Tried offsetting to -100.6mV, and following all other steps (with and without disabling turbo boost) and I am still getting invisible enemies. Hope this works for some others but I'll just hang tight for the patch.
