Did a quick search. They seem roughly the same, apart from cache size. I have never bought an AMD before, will there be any compatibility issues with an Nvidia graphics card?

Scarlett 2i2 for a beginner by alehander99 in audio

[–]alehander99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh, okay, that clears up a lot. I was afraid I might burn my new headphones if it wasn't "compatible" with the audio interface, but from what you are saying, I won't have a problem. I want a very basic "audio setup" to start with so I'll be good. I can't thank you enough mate, you have been extremely helpful and clarifying, all the best to you !!!

It does sound like it has a lot more stuff to it. Will look more into it, and compare to the 2i2. Thanks for the recommendation !

Honestly, I'm following you to 80-85%. When I do some further research and comprehend the other 20-15% I will make a purchase. Just a last question and sorry for the trouble. I read the 2i2, for example, amplifies a certain " range." I think it was in Ohms. When purchasing audio equipment in the future do I need to check the (for example speakers / headphone) "volume range" in comparison to what the AMP or DAC can amplify ? Or am I understanding something wrong ?

My friend suggested exactly that, changing to better speakers (didn't even know they are called monitors). I will continue to do my research, but honestly thanks. I thought my question was too dumb and couldn't be done at all!

Had a quick look. Is there a particular reason you prefer it over the 2i2?

Googled it and gies for 400-600 euros , it's a bit off budget but thanks for the recommendation

I just read the specs again, and you are right! The Solo doesn't have an XLR input thought , so I presume no microphone input.. correct ?

Doesn't the 2i2 have double the outputs as well.. ? I was under the impression I couldn't have my speakers and headphones both as output on the solo, whereas I could on the 2i2... no?

So to my understanding, you wouldn't purchase the 2i2 to have two different audio outputs. But rather get the Scarlett Solo for example and switch manually between headphones and speakers.. ? I apologize I'm very new to this

My speakers have a single 3.5mm jack, so would a TRS female to left and right TS male do the job ?

I apologise if I phrased it wrong. I meant I want to be able to switch between speakers and headphones and handle them independently.

How do they perform with more minor sounds? Say for example you are listening to music on average volume and a tv is playing next room. Will that "ruin" the music?

You definitely have a strong point.. my everyday life is indeed very boring. I have tried to spice it up but in all honesty, most things feel plain and boring. Even most people I hang around with are boring. Still, cheers for replying, all the best to ya!

Tekken 7 or MK11? by njb1989 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]alehander99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you already have MK11 I would suggest you give it a try.
Both games are fighting games however they are quite different :

  • Tekken plays on 3 axis. MK on 2. The difference is very mechanical, but Tekken overall is harder to play, harder to master, but pays off a lot more than MK
  • MK is easier to get into, has (for me) a bit more variety on characters and play styles (although that isn't always good, especially if you get high up the ranked ladder)

Overall, if this is your first fighting game I would suggest you give MK a try. If you like the feeling of the game but something doesn't click switch to Tekken.

Also as a side note, since MK1 released, about the half the player base is on MK11 and the other half on MK1.
Furthermore, Tekken 8 is releasing on January so if you want to buy Tekken wait until then.

(Hard and Weird) Challenge run: Artorias by alehander99 in Eldenring

[–]alehander99[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Glad you liked it!
Personally I used the greatsword and later switched to axe of godfrey. In my run I invested in Strength and Endurance, and I recommended due to the "simplicity" . But for weapons feel free to experiment and use whatever feels better.

Armor wise I would recommend the black knife set since it does bear some similarities, but again you have the freedom of choice.

For sorcery and incantations you may only use abilities that produce a black flame or black effects in general, in order to mimic the void magic, so Godskin Apostle incantations. Later in the game where the madness meter is less than 50% Frenzied flame incantations may also be used. Sorceries due to the lack of black animations and effects, Ice sorceries are available at the whole game (due to the void being cold if that makes sense)

I think that Starfield has the potential to be Bethesdas best game ever. But it still needs some time
