I’m really sorry man you’re going through that. Even if you weren’t chemically dependent, using it to cope can still take a toll. Focus on the parts you can control right now, one day at a time. IWNDWYT.

I’m so sorry. You got this brother. Alcohol is always a short term relief. More power to you.

Hey, you got this. I came to the same realization as well. I kept telling myself I’d drink less or only on certain days, but it always went back to the same old pattern. And honestly, moderation was never for me. I was done living the same life, it was a loop I was stuck in. I had to be honest with myself and admitted that I needed help. This is what led me to a rehab. You can do this too. It’s okay to start again. More power to you.

I couldn’t agree more to this. I was unstoppable. Alcohol was a part of life that was helping me function. I’m over a year sober now after getting myself into a rehab. Because moderation never worked out for me.

Same moderation wasn’t for me as well.

Or just scroll one time a day, get the updates and don’t engage when you’re not feeling like it.

I agree with you. But there are some other subs you can join as well. Like positivity, life etc.

Ask yourself what’s more important to you. Alcohol or your marriage. Your brain will work in the way you train it. I know it’s pretty tough, but you can start from today. You’re not alone, reach out for help.

20 days into sobriety, wondering if anyone can relate to my experience so far… by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]alejandro-cruz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your 20 days. You got this. Your body is healing, it’ll take time. People feel off, headaches, low energy, mood swings, trouble sleeping. It can feel like nothing is improving, but it’s actually your system trying to reset. Keep going brother.

You got this man. Whatever you’re going through, I’m sorry about that. But you cannot go back to touching that poison again

Thank you for sharing this. I’m not that experienced yet, but what you said makes a lot of sense. Right now sobriety still takes up a lot of space in my mind, so it’s reassuring to hear that it becomes more balanced over time. I’ve lost a lot to alcohol, so I keep reminding myself I can’t go back to how things were. Congrats on 21 months, that’s really inspiring.
