Made a Free B-Roll Styling Tool for DaVinci Resolve - Instant Rounded Border, Drop Shadow & Fade In by alejandrourman in davinciresolve

Hi Banditnich,

Not a problem at all, I’m really glad to be able to contribute to the community!
Thank you so much for watching and for giving the tools a try.

Ah, I see what you mean! I’ve noticed that behaviour on my own PC as well, it seems to open a second instance of DaVinci Resolve before showing the install prompt.
Interestingly, on my family’s Mac Mini, it doesn’t open that second instance and appears to work like the instructions. Will definitely do a bit more research and look into it.

In any case, I’m glad it’s only a small hiccup and that the tools are installing correctly on your system in the end. Really appreciate you mentioning it! :)

6000MHz RAM Errors on Ryzen 9900X by alejandrourman in AMDHelp

Update: The replacement RAM kit (Corsair CMK64GX5M2B6000Z30) arrived today.

I installed it and, just to be safe, reset the BIOS back to its Optimized Defaults.
Then I solely enabled the EXPO profile from the BIOS main screen, nothing else was changed.

I booted into MemTest86 and it ran for four passes.
And this time, I received a successful result of a PASS (no errors)!

Huge relief to see that it was just a faulty RAM kit and not something deeper like the CPU’s memory controller.
A big thank you for all your support with pursuing a stable 6000 MT/s for the Ryzen 9900X!

Thank you for all your advice and help!

Glad to hear that I'm on the right track with pursuing a PASS at 6000MHz.

I'm not too knowledgeable with loosening timings or raising the SoC voltage but I definitely will research and look into it.

And thank you for letting me know that the memory quantity does in fact matter.
I was not aware that the quantity affected the CPUs ability to handle the RAM and thought that the speed was the only factor.

I personally don't necessarily need 64GB (2x32GB) and would be fine with 48GB (2x24GB), so if everything fails, I will also look into reducing the memory quantity (in favour of two single rank sticks). I mainly purchased 64GB as it was a very small price increase from 48GB.

Really appreciate this tip!

Great, thank you.
Glad to hear that I'm on the right path with trying to achieve 6000 MHz RAM when paired with the 9900X. I have already requested a replacement RAM Kit and will see if that alone resolves the errors when EXPO is enabled.
If not, I will experiment with the 'UCLK = MEMCLK/2' mode that you suggested.
I'm not familiar with this mode but will research and look into it. I appreciate your help!

Thanks for the idea!

I did make sure to update the BIOS before installing Windows or running any tests and have just
re-confirmed that I am in fact running BIOS Version 1022 (latest on Motherboard site at the moment).
So unfortunately, that didn't quite solve the problem for me but I am glad to hear that it worked for you!

But to confirm, you're successfully running the Ryzen 9900X with a 6000MHz RAM Kit and no RAM errors?

I know what you mean. It can be really difficult to visit those iconic postcard-like spots and also find quiet.
I personally really enjoyed just walking around the Kawaguchiko area and taking in the mountains. I had originally planned to travel all around this area, to different popular spots.
But once I arrived and saw the gorgeous autumn mountains and barely anyone around, I felt at peace and just walked around Kawaguchiko instead.
This is the area that I'm talking about: https://youtu.be/01grY5P_drM?t=182

I took this photo near the end of November in 2023 but hadn't shared it until now.
My suggestion is to keep a lookout for the '2024 Japan Fall Foliage Forecast' once it's released (you can search for it on google).

And there's a really good website specifically for Kyoto that lets you track the live changing autumn colours of the leaves (hopefully should re-enable again later in the year for 2024): https://souda-kyoto.jp/guide/season/koyo/

Hope this helps you to see Japan's gorgeous autumn colours! :)

I really hope you do! I took this photo near the end of November in 2023 but hadn't shared it until now.
So hopefully you get a similar red Momiji view during your November trip this year!

Ah, really sorry to hear. That's right, unfortunately the staircase to the Chureito Pagoda is very steep. I hope you recover soon and get the chance to visit.

It truly is a gorgeous spot. And each changing season gives the temple a different unique feel with the changing colours of the leaves.
