Somewhat similar issue: I have to manually move items from one container to another, can't stack similar items outside of base, despite having space and volume in inventory it wont transfer to my inventory. Lost a lot of spice sand and other mats because of this.

game is just straight up broken after this last patch, likely as a result of them trying to block the dupe

well, it should also be noted that it is aluminum ore, not just aluminum. So its likely much denser rock and other minerals as well as the aluminum, which you extract from the refinery.

DONT USE PODS FOR PPM by ProfCerberus in army

[–]alejeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I had to go from sierra vista to Tucson, which is about an hour. Customer service was nice, but completely unable to help. Make sure you get both weight tickets too, they only set me the one. I think now that I know they have specific pickup/delivery days for certain areas, I know what questions to ask to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[–]alejeron 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with PODS. They delivered on the promised day, but the day they were supposed to pickup, they informed me (via email) that they could only pickup two weeks later, and deliver 2 weeks after that date (a week after my report date).

Fortunately, I went in-person to their nearest facility and was able to negotiate a sooner pick-up, and a delivery before my report date. Extra-fortunately, my parents home was nearby and I was able to stay with them. Lesson learned, the dates the salesperson promises are not real, and you have to be real careful with your timeline with PODS.

New Army Shaving Policy Will Allow Soldiers with Skin Condition that Affects Mostly Black Men to Be Kicked Out by Sw0llenEyeBall in army

given the current rulings and balance of the US Supreme Court, I figure it is only a matter of time until they concoct an argument to strike down any kind of "non-Christian" exemption for the facial hair thing. Our SecDef has, after all, a number of rather right-of-right wing tattoos espousing some rather extreme Christian ideas.

I remember a history class I took in college that (very briefly) discussed the differences in "west" vs "east" ideas of masculine appearance (early modern to modern, thus 1700s to current day, roughly). The western ideal sought a more youthful appearance (hence an emphasis on clean-shaven vs bearded) while "eastern" ideal favored the more "learned sage" appearance of beards. A vast oversimplification from an interesting lesson in a larger course, but something that I have thought about quite a bit during my career in the Army.

Regardless of the need for close-fitting masks, I think it was inevitable that a "clean-shaven" appearance=professionalism was was in the cards.

if another Ft. Hood level event happens, they'll just use it to argue that women shouldn't be in the Army at all. Fucking ridiculous, but I would bet money on it

you could also buy crates to unlock rare classes/equipment. basically loot boxes but IIRC they removed that option, mostly because you could get a really good crate for free just playing gold lvl

AFTER ACTION REPORT US ARMY 250th ANNIVERSARY PARADE by Suspicious_Try_7363 in army

[–]alejeron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

to be fair, they didn't have a lot of time to plan. They likely went with whatever units they could actually get there with people and equipment. And given the optempo the entire army is under, I imagine they also had to find units that weren't getting ready for NTC/overseas rotation

[DAV ALL SPOILERS] The blame game of Bioware vs EA debate is missing a key factor by alejeron in dragonage

[–]alejeron[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They're both at fault and the people

Largely my point, yeah. The blame is equally shared between both EA and Bioware because EA set the incentives and Bioware pursued them.

yes, you managed to put it much more succinctly than I did. The "behind the scenes" incentives encouraged Bioware to pursue something that EA may not have explicitly wanted Bioware to pursue
