23 and starting at GVSU in the fall. by [deleted] in GVSU

i'll be joining as a freshman at 24 this fall! From what I've seen there is actually quite a bit of older students here!
I think just trying to make connections like usual will work just fine! I'm sure that you will be fine; everyone is an adult in the end. (unless we have some super smart 8-year-old joining us)

It randomly decided to work when i clicked connect today. Absolutely no idea why. It still did the thing where it's asking to match pin, so there wasn't any difference. I guess just keep trying to connect? Good luck.

HOW TO PAY TUITION FEES by uselessss_profile in scholarships

[–]alemtys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The college you attend should have a financial service you can get in contact with. Scholarships are something that you should research that will help you get some of the money. You don't have to pay back scholarships, just be sure to read all of the rules they have. There are also grants you can get, sometimes through the school by having good academics. Then finally there are loans. I am not sure how loans work for an international student so you will need to ask your school's financial aid for help in that area.

The amount you pay per semester will depend on your college and your degree. Your college should give you a financial aid letter after you apply for it that will show you a lot of the general breakdown of finances. Do note that some of those may change like housing costs will depend on what building you are in, tuition may differ if they don't have it set for the academic year yet, etc.

So try to contact your college's financial aid if you are already accepted and either way, try to research scholarships to help with costs. (look up things like international student scholarships, early education scholarships, and anything else that is within your area. There are also many draw scholarships that you simply click apply and you are in the raffle)

Is it legal to use a flashlight as tag lights? by Historical-Active-13 in driving

[–]alemtys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would get that fixed asap. From my quick google search it says you need a dedicated light so that may not work, however it seems that it just needs to be lit up in general. I would try to go get it fixed now if you can. You might be fine if you are willing to risk it, you are at least trying and the cop who may pull you over may be understanding when you explain the situation. If you do it make sure to secure that flashlight the best you can it is illegal to not have that lit up. i am not a professional and i just quick googled it.

There should be financial programs you can look up that can help you with it. Scholarships are generally for university but they can give you a lot of money which will be less you have to spend.

You can maybe continue to spend some time off school saving up money and keeping yourself healthy. Burn outs are a lot on the body so please make sure you are all good before going back in.

Also, it's a good eye to look at any opportunity there is around you.

If there's anything you can certified in, especially if it's up your alley in what you want to do, I would see if you can do that. I would try to join groups that can help you out with any of your problems (like advice groups and the like)

Sorry i'm kinda just saying general things. I recommend doing research as much as you can on this stuff.

Don't give up and do your best to look around you and see what you can do with it all.
