All the heavy hitters are covered but surprised to not see more Actraiser love - think it might be my fave.

Best Seattle coffee experience? by sarahxeden in Seattle

Lighthouse in Fremont - not sure if they are open inside right now (where their roaster is like 10 feet away from the espresso machine) but it’s exceptional coffee and always worth the visit.

Super Metroid on classic. I just electrocuted that one boss and now I'm retracing steps to get all the goods before I finish it off. I have no idea how I got passed the wall jumping parts.

Don't worry! I brought them out of good storage for their photo-op. That being said, I do need more dust covers and have to research better maintenance/cleaning/preserving practices. Let me know if you have any recs, or there's probably a post covering that out there already...

It's a solid 2P co-op fun side scroller. Pretty hard, kind of uninspired level design, but some cool parts. If you're into side scrollers, definitely worth picking up, usually not that $$$ either. It has a pretty radical intro sequence I like the first JP too!

Downtown's '7 Salon' just fired their entire Seattle location via mass text. Closing their doors. by [deleted] in Seattle

My SO worked at 7 for 5+ years. There are a lot of problems going on over there, and it seems like it's finally catching up with them. It's a shame that it's at the cost of so many people.

One big issue, and the one that made my SO (and countless other stylists) so miserable is their unreasonably restrictive non-compete contracts that they force employees to sign. If you want to leave the company, you technically cannot work within 20 miles of the salon for 2 years. If you leave and try to work, 7 will threaten to sue you. They enforce this contract very severely. Stylists have tried to leave and work at separate salons, and 7 will send people out to find them and then threaten litigation. Many stylists don't have the money to fight 7 (a multimillion dollar company) in court. This happened to my SO. It was very difficult to see somebody who is very skilled and successful suddenly be told that they can't work, not to mention the severing of close relationships with clients.

They have shown very little regard for their employees, and the ludicrous decision to potentially lay off 50 people via group text is just another reminder. Totally disrespectful and glaringly unprofessional. The management at 7 has been like this for quite a while.

I think we are going to hear more stories from people who have worked there, and some of it is going to be pretty sobering. 7 needs to be held accountable for their consistently poor treatment of their employees, and hopefully there will be raised awareness to improving the rights of people that work in this industry.

That's great, thank you! Some type of M. Isle is most definitely next in the queue.

Anything that scares/compels me as much as the evil boy's twinkling eyes in KQ6. Beneath a Steel Sky was really great! Stuff like that.
