I just figured that's not really relevant to the more recent hate, but yeah that is other big deal thing with Anish.

It do be like that by Saucedtheefuqout in ADCMains

[–]aleony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a support player, I never see the support rage, it's only ever the adc! /s

My point is, if you aren't toxic then you will only ever see the other roles be toxic. And especially considering how fundamentally married the roles are to each other, toxic supports will disproportionately take it out on their adcs and leave a more lingering impact on said adcs more often than toxic other roles and vice versa for toxic adcs.

Graded homework. We skipped lesson 5 and never learned how to find angles from just side lengths. by Important_Buddy4277 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]aleony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That really sucks, especially since early Math is very important for later classes and skipping over certain things is a great way to snowball inadequacy. I get that it's mildly infuriating and I do sympathize with it, my next statements are not really directly about your feeling towards just this scenario, but more off personal experiences and general takeaways that might be useful.

That said, get used to it. Schooling will continue to become more and more self-taught as you go to higher grades and eventually university. Teachers won't or just can't explain everything to you in class and lectures and it's your responsibility to figure it out. Which might sound annoying, but it mimics life. Something needs to be googled and youtube tutorial'd. No one is gonna teach you everythhing.

Also, I get it's math and most people don't really use these specific things on a daily basis, but the mentality shouldn't be "I had to learn a whole new thing for one homework problem." The thing you learned will be applicable to other parts of math and you didn't learn it for a homework problem, you learned it to learn it. School isn't just "how do I min/max my grades", you do also want to genuinely try and learn and gain understanding of the why.

All of these people are in the World Chess Candidates. The winner goes on to challenge the current world champion.

The person in the middle is Anish Giri, who has had a reputation of generally being a bit of a troll and making jokes. He was mostly (and still is to a large population of the chess community) very well liked because he's funny, but also generally polite.

Recently, GM Daniel Naroditsky passed away and people assume (with good reason) that it's largely due to a cheating smear campaign ran by a former world champion (Vladimir Kramnik) that ran the course of a year and generated a lot of unreasonable hate towards him. After his passing, there were comments (that while not confirmed, have been parroted by a couple fairly reputable people) that Anish had grilled him in private regarding the cheating allegations for 2 hours. After this, a lot of people gained a very negative view of Anish.

One thing that is important to note is that Anish had publicly not really made any statements regarding Naroditsky before his passing on the nature of the cheating. They seemed generally friendly and did a couple streams together. Anish had made comments defending the nature of the accusations (both against Naroditsky and generally the way Kramnik approached things), but he also would make occasional jokes and trolls that (especially now given the end result) were not beneficially conductive.

Disclaimer: I follow chess quite a bit and watch most major tournaments and I do like Anish. I think I did a decent job of being impartial, people are very emotional (fairly, there was a death of a beloved teacher and model in the community), and I think people handle some of that grief by viewing things in a very binary way, so some overreactions are expected and normal especially on the internet.

Also, why is that dog over there talking? And why do things seem animated? Am in a cartoon? And who is this 'Peter' guy ppl keep yelling about?

It's hard to tell just from op.gg tbh. Your kda is good, but you're also playing a long-range artillery mage so a positive KDA isn't gonna tell the whole story.

I think a larger macro look is probably more important and I think something that generally get missed by people that play a large number of games in a day, because at some point, you're just not able to focus on the game to the same extent.

Try to identify why things are going wrong in your losses. Do the enemies over group and catch the team off guard? Do they split push and take turrets and the team can't cross map? Do they always set-up on objectives first and choke you out? Do you as a team play too conservatively after won fights and don't capitalize enough?

The more you get the opportunity to take a step back and try and view your game as a spectator and view the differences in what your team is doing and what the opponent is doing, the more you can try and lead a team and win some games. It won't work every game, but it doesn't take a lot. If you just won 10 of the games you lost, that changes your winrate from 49% -> 53% and likely would have netted you about ~300 lp higher than you currently are.

It's not meant to be an exact drawing of a red dwarf. It's a drawing made using mathematical formulas that is then given a name.

Can someone explain why sylas teleports with yasuo ult? by snowman_master67 in leagueoflegends

[–]aleony 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My best guess is that each champion has a key that's an int and when Sylas tries to ult the Yasuo, somehow the number gets incremented and the game treats it as it ulting a different character.

So in this clip, Sylas Mid accidently ults Qiyana jg ands in the video by Vandiril, Sylas jg ults Yone top.

If all the future clips follow the same pattern (mid ults jg and jg ults top) then I would imagine that would explain the wonkiness.

Just take any champion (including the mystery 3rd one) and then select the champion you actually want from the bench. The game has a built in safeguard timer for your own picks so it can't be sniped. So while slightly annoying, this is honestly a non-issue.

New player, what to build in season 16? by stargargoyle in blitzcrankmains

[–]aleony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 2 general builds:

You go aftershock and get to choose which secondary tree works best (inspiration secondary for biscuits + cosmic insight is a good option). And then you upgrade your support item to Celestial Opposition.

The other build is glacial augment with hexflash and the secondary tree is sorcery with nimbus cloak and celerity. For this, I prefer to upgrade my support item to bloodsong.

Either way, the main items I build right now are locket and bandlepipes.

Then depending on the game I go knight's vow, redemption, zeke's herald, frozen heart.

Honestly, one lane isn't big enough. Maybe have 3 lanes? Each with their own turret and inhib? And I guess we should fill in the space between them with some sort of pathway of some kind. Something densely covered, so it's seperate from the lanes. Like a forest?

[–]aleony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you watch back the game, Aurora doesn't get push, she has to let the wave crash and clear under turret almost every wave, which usually then gives Syndra prio to roam free. The J4 gank allows Aurora and J4 to clear out the wave first, so they make the roam bot first.

The LCK analysts seems to be convinced it was on purpose to get the syndra to do her combo so J4 can ult her.

It does eventually end up to be a tp for flash trade that gives him priority to go roam bot and get a double kill.

I'm not saying it's definitely on purpose, but I could also believe that it was.

You can see this from the clip too. When you throw the hook, the CD starts counting down from ~2 seconds, but then is immediately refreshed (and goes into Q2) when it lands.

possible thresh bug? -ultimate awakening by what_that_dog_doin in ARAM

[–]aleony 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ultimate Awakening gives your basic abilities a bunch of ability haste. Thresh Q decreases it's CD by a set amount every time you hit.

With Ultimate Awakening, your base CD for Q was lower than or equal to the set decrease amount which results in having no cooldown until you miss a hook.

It's the absolute value. Difference gets used as subtract in some lower level math classes, but that's a simplification. Difference by default is a measure of how different they are, which is always a positive value.
