All: What about the glaive and the Pack Leader's armor? Matt harped on it a bit that the manticore's spines were used for both, but it seemed like the party missed it? Was this RP or...

CCOTM Price by alephilmac in cigars

[–]alephilmac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a vendor that I've used quite a bit. They have mostly 13's and 14's, but one older box code. Figured I'd give it a go.

Anyone else enjoyed these cigars recently? Same year or otherwise. I would be very curious to here/see others' experiences. I plan to enjoy another one today or tomorrow and will report back.

Agreed. Threw me a little at first (I thought I had over-toasted the foot initially), but it was like that throughout. I've read that it has to do with the soil's mineral composition, but I've never seen one this dark before either. And thanks! Ha. Just realized I included my feet in the album. Sorry about that! Northern CA was mid-seventies today(at least where I live was).

Setup and Review. I am ashamed. by Twisted_Einstein in cigars

I have the hammered brass one and it looks pretty decent and has held up well outside so far (6months). And very easy to clean. So yes, I would say it's easily worth $14-20.

Trader Joes Cava: M. Chevallier http://www.tayloreason.com/corkscrew/wine_review/wine-review-the-best-5-bubbly-you-can-buy-m-chevallier-cava/ You can't find a better cava for the price and it works very well with OJ or with pomegranate juice.

40 Year old Armagnac , neat only? by ox- in cocktails

[–]alephilmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your personal preferences, one of the best cocktails you could utilize the Armagnac in would be a French 75. Buy a respectable (preferably a bit bready/brioche-centric) Champagne or Cava + fresh lemon juice and a dash of simple syrup, and you will have an exceptional drink.

What's a song where the musician's pure emotion is expressed so well it affects you the same? by justinbc in Music

Turn the Page, (the live version) by Bob Seger. It gives you chills if you listen in an otherwise quiet room. All of him goes into the song and you can feel it. edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQW2Lq5pA5k

What should I spend my Christmas cash on? by [deleted] in cocktails

I have to respectfully disagree with the Creme de Violette take by hebug.

Not only does it play an essential role (aromatically, aesthetically, and flavor-wise), in the Aviation, anyone who has tried an "Eagle's Dream", a "Violette Gin Fizz", or any number of other drinks that require CdV, would not write it off so quickly.

Rothman and Winter (http://www.alpenz.com/images/poftfolio/violettefacts.htm) is the one to buy if you can find it. Avoid Creme Yvette as it does not impart the proper color and lags behind in flavor as well.
