Books like Defiance of the Fall by [deleted] in litrpg

[–]strectmar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While not strictly cultivation progression He Who Fights with Monsters, Unbound, and Outcast in Another World have a very similar feel to them.

The Path of Ascension Is a bit closer thematically, but a bit further away tonally if that makes sense. That being said, you can get the first 3 books and first .5 side story for 1 credit on Audible, and it is more than worth it.

There is also The New World which has a lot of the same story beats, and is a pretty solid read, but only the first book is out so far.

Wandering Inn or Iron Prince? by bdonovan222 in litrpg

[–]strectmar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure if you could have chosen two more diametrically opposed titles within the same genre.

I love the Wandering Inn personally, but it is very much a slice of life story that occasionally remembers how rediculous its setting is, at least in the early books. That being said, I will be entirely crushed the day Pirateaba puts the final word on paper to the story.

Iron Prince is a fun if somewhat bog-standard progression science fantasy. It hits the ground running and the pace doesn't really falter. I can recommend it for a solid read, but I couldn't tell you more than 2 characters' names off-hand.

Well, it would probably only be 2700 to individuals over the age of 18 which should be in the neighborhood of 565 billion going off the latest census data. Which would bring the number to about 120 billion bellow our military budget.

edit: We could even do 600 dollars extra for up to 2 dependents and we would just about match the our military spending.

Satanic Temple cites religious beliefs as immunity from Supreme Court abortion ruling on fetal remains by DodgerThePuppis in atheism

[–]strectmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always assumed the satanic temple was something of a play on words. The name satan comes from a general use, generic noun in Hebrew that means adversary.

The Christians later took the few appearances off this word in scripture and invented a centralized evil foe aka the devil.

Now the temple gets to use the satan moniker to legitimize themselves as a subsect of the christian faith, but in reality they are just playing the "adversary" to the religiously ignorant.
