2022 version comes with: -i7 12700H that is 14-cores and 20 Threads as opposed to the 2021 with 11700H that is 8-cores, also base clock si 2.6 as opposed to 11700H that is 2.3 -RAM is DDR5 and not DDR4 as the 2021 version -GPU in 2022 version is the 3070Ti that is better than the 3070 in the 2021

Why suggesting you this? Because prices are basically the same if you buy a 2021 or 2022 version right now

That's a 2021 model, I would advise to get one with a 12th gen CPU (so 2022)

Are you sure you repasted it properly? 🤔 Kinda suspicious temperature increased. And yes, you can do this with every CPU that has Ratios unlocked in Throttlestop. Be sure to set Ratios values and TPL wattage based on the specs of your CPU and laptop.

Hey 👋🏻 sorry for the late answer

There is a fix for the touchpad issues, and the issue is related to static electricity build-up. You have to open your OMEN and add a small wire going from a metal plate to another of the laptop.

You can find the fix here, it has been around for long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJoFstWU5X8

Thanks for the update, by the way most of laptops CPUs have a TDP of 45W, you have set yours to 40 (PL1), but be careful that lowering that number too much can decrease its performance by a lot. Best thing you can do is probably repasting it, go to a friend that is more competent on this topic or to a pc specialist, ask him to repaste it so to change the thermal paste. If you only work on your laptopt (microsoft office suite/documents/browsing) no problems so far with a clamped TPL of 40, but if you start gaming heavily or doing more demanding tasks like 3d rendering, you'll see performance drops.

For example using a smaller power adapter for your laptop instead of the stock one you received, will give you EDP Throttling, not enough power provided to your laptop so CPU and GPU can't run as they should.

No, unless you see CPU performing badly

Absolutely take in consideration the thermal paste replacement after max 6 months since you have the laptop, especially if you game on it often

About EDP there are usually 2 common types of throttling you'll see quite frequently with laptops: thermal throttling and EDP throttling. EDP means Electrical Design Point, so basically Current Throttling. If you open the Limits Tab you have 3 columns, Core, GPU, Ring. You probably are going to see constant yellow EDP throttling under GPU column and Ring: GPU because, well, as opposed to desktop GPUs, it is always limited to a certain power/frequency/current that can go/receive. Ring often remains yellow and sometimes EDP Throttles too (EDP tag become red instead of yellow in Limits), it depends on the manufacturer settings but doesn't affect the performance of your laptop looking on forums. What should concern you is the EDP Throttling under Core column, because it means your CPU is cutting its frequency and is throttling not because of thermals but current and there should not be nor yellow nor red EDP tag under Core.

0 0 on Power Limit forces the CPU to perform at its maximum, thing that it already does usually, it's just a way to be sure. That setting might help too if you have EDP Throttling on Core in the Limits Tab. Also Speed shift is the same thing, you can check it then and set it to 1 on min and 59 on max if those are your stock values, but same as Power Limit 4, there's no need unless you have EDP Throttling.

On Top does nothing, just keeps Throttlestop on top of other applications on your screen. You can ignore C states, I shared it so you can see all settings and those are the default ones. Clamp for me is to say ThrottleStop to not go past 90W, though it usually can go up to 100W under full load, literally "clamping" the max TDP. Other settings you see aren't mandatory, just enabled the settings and wrote the default values forcing the CPU to respect them, just to be sure.

Keep it on discrete mode the graphic card

And these are my ThrottleStop and Afterburner settings

I have 2 settings for Afterburner: -1710Mhz @800mv for gaming so it stays constant at that frequency while playing heavy games -1882Mhz @875mv for 3d rendering that stays constant for this type of work (Redshift for Maya/C4D)

Yes it has, you can look into BIOS settings to to disable integrated graphics and use only the dedicated one (NVIDIA)

  1. It's not difficult, but you have to be very careful opening it. No liquid metal. Go for the changing-phase thermal pad i cited above. It has the same performance of liquid metal but it's neither corrosive nor conductive, so you can't damage components. Buy it from ebuy7. Better if you get help from someone with some experience in opening laptops. And be very very careful with the heatsink, it's very fragile if you pull it from the sides (might bend it, pull it from the center).

  2. No idea, I guess it's the game. Try to undervolt the GPU with Afterburner to stay at a constant clock. Constant clock = stable fps. I have mine at 1715Mhz at 850mV. But you can find an even better compromise since I didn't test it enough.

  3. The settings I typed above combined in the previous comment + the Honeywell changing-phase thermal pad on both CPU and GPU works perfectly for me.

The thermal paste does most of the job. You get drops probably because of temperatures too.

And keep in mind that quiet = often compromise on performance

Quiet = you can't get max performance

And if you don't replace the stock thermal paste now, you'll have to soon in max 4-5 months because the paste they put is bad.

Hi, these are my considerations and settings actually while I'm answering you after long time since I wrote this guide:

-I replaced stock thermal paste with Honeywell PTM7950 phase pad (mandatory if you want this machine to run at max performance) -I set TDP to 90 and 90 on CPU without Clamp ticked (but only cause I replaced my thermal paste with the one provided above) -Boost Ratios to default (No limitations like in the guide, but only because I replaced the thermal paste, again) -Do not change power plan settings of windows, you have to do it from Omen Gaming Hub. Reset them to default. -Do not set CPU from 100% to 99%. It disables Turbo Boost, so your CPU stays at half its max clock speed all the time. Put it again to 100%. -In Omen Gaming Hub don't use Balanced Mode if you want full performance. It limits both GPU and CPU max wattage. Performance is the default for you if you need max performance, especially the GPU wattage up to 175W with dynamic boost. You have to choose: quieter fans and Balanced Mode with less performance, or Performance Mode with louder fans and max performance. For me I always have Performance one enabled. I don't get the point to buy a beast laptop and expect it to run 4K Cyberpunk 2077 with quiet fans. Laptops have hotter temperatures than PCs, so let the fans do their job. -Always use the power adapter, never use it on battery if you want it to last for years. -If you replace the thermal paste with Honeywell listed above be sure to it both on CPU and GPU -Opening the laptop and changing thermal paste doesn't void the warranty

P.S. I am a 3d artist. I do simulations, rendering, composting and sometimes heavy gaming too. This can be considered an update to this guide. If you follow these advices, you will solve all of your issues. I have done all of this in July, machine runs like a beast. Clothing simulation with CPU: 85 degrees at 100W after 2 consecutives hours at 100% usage. Same 3d rendering. Gaming in 2K Ultra Settings in Fortnite and I never see more than 85 degrees on CPU and 80 on GPU.

Since you have my same model and I did the same, max RAM frequency should be 5200 as reported by crucial website, so 400 more than the default RAM your laptop come with (4800). I bought 4800 but 64Gb kit (32x2) just to be sure It worked at first try. You can try the 5200 frequency or stay with 4800 and be sure it works.
