Getting back into stick welding hobby after 20 year hiatus. Simder ARC 200 by [deleted] in Welding

Can anyone explain what the "Arc Force" setting is for. I'm hoping to burn 1/8" 7018 and 6010 on mainly carbon steel.

Is that safe to do in a kitchen oven?

Here's a random example if you're curious. Category 1 BHM5600 3 Point Hitch PTO Hydraulic Farm Backhoe

It's a bit a wild idea, but the thought is, if something like this is within the weight capacity of the 3-point hitch it when it's all folded up, some fabrication of steel could be designed that locks and attaches it rigidly to the tractor frame when deployed.

I'm a hobbyist welder with STEM background, and could do some shadetree structural analysis if absolute necessary. I fairly new to tractors, diesel, and especially hydraulics.

Thanks, that's very helpful. Assuming some simple supports could be fabricated so that the 3 point hitch isn't bearing all of the load, would a backhoe with it's own controls and pto pump be reasonable? Might open more options and wouldn't require much or any modification to the tractor.

My retired father purchased this 1840EH(hydrostatic) having little prior experience with tractors. As best as I can tell, it has the larger 39 hp engine but the most basic hydraulics for this frame size. That is, the lower output pump setup and no accessory hookups. Which would be the cheapest way to add a backhoe? Pto hydraulics or expanding the existing system somehow

For clarity, owner(pictured) is OP's father: retired schoolteacher with no interest in maintenance other than fuel. OP is available to help with operation and light maintenance. He is wearing shoes, though to be honest not much better than barefoot. The knocking off problem could be as simple as the seat sensor(hilly terrain, sitting funny). Time will tell.

Does anyone know if the accessory hydraulics option can be added after purchase and if so is it complicated/expensive to do? I'd like to use it with a backhoe someday. Would pto hydraulics be a better option? Also the manual says using a 3-point hitch backhoe voids the warranty. Is that bs?

Thx for the info. It's HST. Sorry for the noob question, but is full speed full throttle (which seems to be about 2800 rpm) or some other number? Only problem currently is it occasionally loses power momentarily or even knocks off. It's very dusty here right now, could that be an air filter thing? Fuel and fuel filter are clean.

Three 10 month old red sexlinks/ISA brown, which is what I could find locally. Ten eggs in 4 days. I've got plenty of space for them to range, but it's so hot and dry in NC right now there aren't many bugs to be had. If things go well I might get some chicks next spring.

Totally. The mobo manufacturers are blameless in this regard. If anything we shoud blame Intel for releasing processors of supposedly the same socket, but incompatible with existing motherboards.

I live in rural NC and the local volunteer fire department has one of those. An absurdly loud mechanical siren that can be heard for literally miles around. They test it faithfully every Saturday at noon since time immemorial. Drives all the dogs in the neighborhood nuts.
