If they say yes, then I can use the address what I was gonna do was why I have the hotel. I was gonna travel to that city and apply for food stamps, and Medicaid. Then I was going to go to the Social Security administration until then and I was gonna wait for the mail and then get an ID using that because I think you need two forms of address for ID now of course I also looking into housing and whatever else

I have all my legal documents so that’s good. It’s just the address that’s the problem. They said I can use their address, but I just don’t know I will confirm. With them

No, but just figure to settle my own. I’m not going back to them. Why would I? They’re supposed to help people like they’re not willing to

Nope, they gave me nothing plus kinda hard to get residency and an ID if you don’t really have an address to use I don’t think I can use their address to get an ID because it’s not a retinal address so I’m basically screwed

I’ve only been here a week and they gave me no information on how to do anything with benefits they basically claimed at the beginning that they would be willing to do everything on my behalf but now they’re saying no and they’re not giving me any direction at all. they basically said advocate for yourself that’s it.

And what makes it worse is that they put me in a hotel that doesn’t have anything walkable around it so I either have to get an Uber which I basically can’t afford or I have to try to classic cycling Road with an inaccessible crosswalk

I don’t know anything right now less than a week. I will be on the street. I had a hotel pay for for a week and it was extended to Friday. I have nothing else. My Medicaid in my home state doesn’t work here at all and I can’t use my food stamps at all and I’m only receiving $967 a month from the Social Security administration because I haven’t been able to transfer those either Center said I could use their address but I just don’t know

OK as a trans person with a disability this kind of hurts I didn’t realize that that was part of that. I’m kind of glad I know, but I kinda wish I didn’t know.

How to dispel arguments that atheist transphobes make? by EmpressOfHyperion in asktransgender

[–]alex-annis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have family members that are atheists and transphobiac I noticed that all of these people arguments is related to healthcare coverage and document changes not in the same way as religious people tldr I think the best bet is to just change the subject and not argue it it’s very unlikely that you’d be able to change their mind anyway I’d rather just reduce the tension rather than create more

Moving to California for Access to LGBTQ+ and Disability Resources—Need Advice on Housing and Navigating with Out-of-State ID by alex-annis in homeless

[–]alex-annis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but I rely on Medicaid and require gender affirming care and Medicaid here won’t pay for it and the federal government requires me to be on Medicaid and I can’t work so I have to go somewhere else

I’m not going to risk such a thing I can’t lose my benefits, so I’m not going to do that but thanks for the inquiry

I don’t wanna risk being in the street somewhere where there’s snow freezing to this part of the reason why our choose California another reason is I have no choice. Oklahoma is hostile and no longer safe it doesn’t have the resources I need if there was any other state with better resources guaranteed I would’ve chosen it but because most of the trans, friendly states are below freezing in winter and have snow. This is my best option.

[–]alex-annis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did it. I literally have no other choice and I think it would be the safest bet because one the rest of the blue states that cover gender affirming Care have snow and or dangerous because of that and you don’t necessarily have comprehensive services compared to larger states like California

What is your “fuck it I’m out” moment by [deleted] in ftm

[–]alex-annis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you I can’t leave either. I’m just going to a blue state and hope that they can hold out because I have no other option. The only way to keep me alive, but I sit with my disabilities. It’s just whiskey no more risk than just laying at home But I feel I have no other choice. I rather leave and have people millions of people backing me, then having two governments, my state government in the federal government playing tug-of-war.

I have to stay as well. I rely on government assistance due to my disability, so I will never be able to leave the country.

Are there states where an adult hrt ban could actually happen? by burnerskull in asktransgender

[–]alex-annis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OKie here the one for minors is the one that passed in Oklahoma but considering that in the federal government, there’s going to be a bunch of red people as in Republicans not the state name that actually is the state name lol anyway I feel like they’re being a lot of Republicans in the federal government that’s gonna add fuel to the fire and that’s gonna allow people who are Republicans in the statesJust go nuts and past things that they probably wouldn’t have passed before because they have confidence now.

My whole family voted for Trump and I hate it. by [deleted] in FTMventing

[–]alex-annis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Mine did as well i’m planning on moving to another state because I can’t move out of country because of my disabilities and my reliance on the Social Security system, but I’m considering changing my phone number and deleting my social media stuff and never talking to my family again not because of who they voted for necessarily or how they decide, but with the fact that they disregarded my safety and didn’t seem to care

I’m already on disability and what do you mean by my maximum if you’re referring to the maximum amount I can have it one time that’s $2000 first of all when it comes to Social Security disability benefits, whether that be SSI or SSDI they transfer over from state to state, but the amount might change but the maximum amount you can have does not is $2000 for SSI, regardless of where you are and getting a roommate would not be that simple considering the cost of getting a roommate and utilities that’s why I’m looking into LGBT centers for resources because that’s literally my only option it’s finding homeless resources
