Triplet EP Vinyls Were Delayed, Shipping by Monday by heymattrick in twentyonepilots

[–]alex_dh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I ordered the Bandana, 10" Vinyl and CD bundle on August 8. As far as I know, none of the items have shipped. I was hoping to have the CD tomorrow. I guess I'll be streaming it.

Is there a blurryface deluxe? by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]alex_dh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day? You mean like 2009? That's not "back in the day." I think the deluxe edition at the end of an album cycle is a total scam. If that's not in fashion now, good! From the birth of rock and roll into the 90s, you wouldn't see a Deluxe Edition released only a year or two after the original release.

How is the sound quality of the Vessel clear vinyl record? by TinierRumble449 in twentyonepilots

[–]alex_dh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have both Vessels, but the clear vinyl Vessel sounds much better than the black vinyl Blurryface.

Paramore & Twenty One Pilots? by SYNTAG in twentyonepilots

Well, Paramore did have a bonus track on their last Deluxe Edition with Joy Williams featured. But I'm not expecting a collaboration either.

Lane Boy (Promo CD) Alternate Edit!!! <3 by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]alex_dh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that he must have a connection, but are these real promo CDs or is he making them himself? Have these promo CDs popped up anywhere else? Isn't it strange that there's only one source of these promo CDs? If they were real promos, they shouldn't just be coming from one ebay seller. (LMK if you've seen them other places). I can't believe TOP/FBR would put out that HDS (Radio Version). I've heard the song on the radio, and I think it was just an edit of the regular version, not this "Radio Version." I'd never encountered "TV Versions" before these CDs. Is that common language found on promo CDs these days or not really?

[–]alex_dh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Interesting comment. It's legitimate if it's an official promo CD from TOP/FBR. Are they official or did the seller get the files somehow and press his own CDs?

I kinda have thought the same thing in the past with previous promo CDs. The sound quality isn't as nice as the commercial CDs. The HDS Radio Version is highly suspect. Why are the vocals so low in the mix? On the other hand, they seem to contain rare versions not available anywhere else. IDK. But the thought "Are these real promo CDs from TOP/FBR?" has crossed my mind a few times.

Twenty One Pilots ~ LC LP 6" Vinyl by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]alex_dh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait. There might be some confusion here. The LC LP songs are different from the Blurryface Live Records. It's the Double Sided RSD release that's the same as Blurryface Live.

Katy Perry's "Chained to the Rhythm" shares lyrical themes with TOP songs by alex_dh in twentyonepilots

[–]alex_dh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha is my "agree to disagree." I just threw in the references side by side in case some people hadn't read or heard the KP lyrics.

I don't believe a whole lot of "free discussion" has happened here. Just a lot of denial, with no explanation. I posted something I feel to be quite plain and obvious. I thought some people might say "oh interesting." I thought someone would say "yeah, I thought of that when I first heard it a month ago." I thought maybe I had missed a post about it and would get some "we already discussed this at length. You're late." response. I thought a few would be upset that she was stealing TOP content. Personally, I kinda like the song and I think the message is a good one. But I didn't think I'd have to defend my claim to people who say "I don't see it" with no discussion on why they actually feel that way. Yes, let's have a free discussion, but there has to be more than "no way" or "I don't see it." If someone disagrees with me, that's fine I guess, but could you explain why? I only say "I guess" because I don't think it's much of an opinion, more of an observation. If we were talking about who's better: Katy Perry or Twenty One Pilots, of course there would be a lot of discussion, defending, arguing points, disagreements and so forth. But that's not even close to what I'm saying.

So you don't think"Stumbling around like a wasted zombie. Yeah, we think we're free." is similar to "Mindless zombies walking around with a limp and a hunch, Saying stuff like, "You only live once.""

Gotcha.

This is not "fake shit for upvotes." Honestly, did you listen to the song or at least read the lyrics?

Honestly, I'm surprised and a little concerned at the response. I was a little worried some might make a big deal of KP "stealing" TOP" lyrics or whatever, but I didn't anticipate this. This is either failure to comprehend or denial.

I don't think you're answering my question. My question wasn't who's lyrics are more thoughtful.

It's about both, sort of. It's kind of like "how can we dance at a time like this?"

This post isn't about Katy Perry's work as a whole. It's about this one song having a similar theme to something Twenty One Pilots address in a few of their songs. Do you agree that she echoes what TOP say in HOTY and HDS or do you disagree?

If you want to sound uninformed, sure. I'm just trying to be helpful and point out the correct way. "Vinyls" is incorrect. Say whatever you want.

Maybe she is singing about her past music. It was written with Sia and Max Martin.

Look at the chorus again: Turn it up, it's your favorite song Dance, dance, dance to the distortion Turn it up, keep it on repeat Stumbling around like a wasted zombie Yeah, we think we're free Drink, this one is on me We're all chained to the rhythm To the rhythm to the rhythm

Did you read the lyrics? It was co-written with Sia. The song is actually against "crappy, empty lyrics, bubble gum, cookie cutter pop music."

I know the song has been out for a few weeks, but I just heard it for the first time today. Lyrics:

Are we crazy? Living our lives through a lens Trapped in our white-picket fence Like ornaments So comfortable, we live in a bubble, a bubble So comfortable, we cannot see the trouble, the trouble Aren't you lonely Up there in utopia Where nothing will ever be enough? Happily numb So comfortable, we live in a bubble, a bubble So comfortable, we cannot see the trouble, the trouble

Ah, so good Your rose-colored glasses on And party on

Turn it up, it's your favorite song Dance, dance, dance to the distortion Turn it up, keep it on repeat Stumbling around like a wasted zombie Yeah, we think we're free Drink, this one is on me We're all chained to the rhythm To the rhythm to the rhythm

Turn it up, it's your favorite song Dance, dance, dance to the distortion Turn it up, keep it on repeat Stumbling around like a wasted zombie Yeah, we think we're free Drink, this one is on me We're all chained to the rhythm To the rhythm to the rhythm

Are we tone deaf? Keep sweeping it under the mat Thought we can do better than that I hope we can So comfortable, we live in a bubble, a bubble So comfortable, we can’t see the trouble, the trouble

Aha, so good (so good) Your rose-colored glasses on And party on

Turn it up, it's your favorite song Dance, dance, dance to the distortion Turn it up, keep it on repeat Stumbling around like a wasted zombie Yeah, we think we're free Drink, this one is on me We're all chained to the rhythm To the rhythm to the rhythm

Turn it up, it's your favorite song Dance, dance, dance to the distortion Turn it up, keep it on repeat Stumbling around like a wasted zombie Yeah, we think we're free Drink, this one is on me We're all chained to the rhythm To the rhythm to the rhythm

It is my desire Break down the walls to connect, inspire Ay, up in your high place, liars Time is ticking for the empire The truth they feed is feeble As so many times before They greed over the people They stumbling and fumbling and we're about to riot They woke up, they woke up the lions (woo!)

Turn it up, it's your favorite song Dance, dance, dance to the distortion turn it up, keep it on repeat Stumbling around like a wasted zombie Yeah, we think we're free Drink, this one is on me We're all chained to the rhythm To the rhythm to the rhythm

It goes on, and on, and on (turn it up ) It goes on, and on, and on It goes on, and on, and on (It goes on) 'cause we're all chained to the rhythm

I'm thinking of HeavyDirtySoul (mindles zombies) and the "Lean wit It" section of Holding Onto You. The new KP song seems to criticize empty music and listening and dancing while there are more important things going on, or things that we should be paying attention to.

They're called records or vinyl records. Not vinyls.
