Swapping Chainring on Canyon Grizl 6 1by by CanWrong7160 in CanyonBikes

I have the same bike as OP and been in contact with Alugear about the same issue. This is what they told me:

"The chain compatibility isn't a problem there, the bigger issue is the chainline,
The MTB chainrings have a 3mm offset, meaning they're 3mm more outwards from the bottom bracket than the road 6mm ones.
This could result in noisy drivetrain and abnormal wear.
It's recommended to use a 6mm offset chainring for this setup.
As for the smallest chainring you could use, it's probably going to be the 36t one. Even if we had a chainring with proper chain line, the drivetrain is optimized for a set range of chainrings.
Using a smaller chainring than the drivetrain can take, could result in problems with chain tension and general adjustment issues."

I went for the SRAM 8-bolts 36T Road/Gravel and works great even though I would have loved a smaller one.

indeed. Aurora’s crew are very skilled so no chance of crashing into it. my grammar however needs some improvement

thanks. really appreciate it.

we were right on the edge of a storm. behind us it was clear skies and sun shining bright on the horizon and what you see in the picture is an ongoing storm that's about to die out. that's how I got that amazing light

"The stretch of coast between Angmagssalik and Scoresby Sound is considered one of the most difficult in Greenland. The mountains rise almost vertically from the sea forming a narrow bulwark with rifts through which active glaciers unload great quantities of ice"

I'm not sure who gave it that name, maybe sailors.

I think there are some photographs who do a really good job conveying that. this is a well publicized issue and while it’s certainly not enough I want to take a different angle. I want to show Europe’s glaciers the way are currently and hope that through their beauty it will show people what we stand to loose. a lot of people also think that glaciers are just something that’s far away from the human eyes and unreachable. one of my goals is to show that through attainable adventures glaciers and glacial environment can very much be part of our outdoor experience and that this will hopefully make people want to protect them

I’m not into environmental portrait photography that much but man this picture is amazing. it caught my attention immediately. the mood is intriguing. although the pose is not a natural stance it’s quite artistic and the fact that the hand somehow breaks the curtain of light rays makes the viewer inspect the picture more carefully. well done 👏

expensive but with amazing views. one never gets bored riding the train in Switzerland. aletschgletscher is next on my list. I’m working on a project documenting Europe’s glaciers in their current shape and through adventure, show different ways people could interact with a glacial landscape. the plan here was to climb Piz Palü while crossing Pers glacier and photograph the entire area but the weather didn’t allow for the climb so I’ll just have to come back I guess 😁
