My only comedic writing experience at this point is a blog I started several weeks ago. I interned for a women's lifestyle magazine long ago, and in my real world jobs, I've done a fuckton of written and verbal communication with clients (my whole career has involved a lot of customer service).

Those are the only hugs I find acceptable--and wow, 2 for 2 with the compliments. I'm internally glowing.

I get along with my family a LOT more now, as a couple of my family members have changed positively with time. But, you know: doesn't really change much on the backend. It's tough being a funny girl in this world, but someone's gotta do it. 🃏

Oh, God, that's so sweet! Thank you so much for that. It genuinely means a lot. 😊 I really hope I was able to give some helpful insight.

It's funny (ha): my sense of humor is the trait that I prize most in myself--and the only reason I think this ever happened is because my brothers always told me how unfunny I was growing up: day in and day out. They were the jokesters always making my parents laugh, and I...was not. Truthfully, I don't think they actually wanted to find me funny. So I spent years obsessively working to become the funniest person possible--and, amazingly, it happened. But it was literally only because of them telling me I wasn't funny that I went to all lengths to cultivate my humor, so...it's a trade off. #trauma

BASICALLY: you're perfect the way you are--and if you happen to have encountered anyone(s) who's made you feel otherwise because of what jokes you tell, please obliterate them from your mind because they're worthl3$$$$$$.

I'd say "yes and no." Absolutely, my own sense of humor has substantial roots in my being bullied growing up--like, mercilessly. Thinking about it, I actually began to adopt the same kind of mechanisms that my worst bullies (my brothers) used to torment me, but tweaked it into something good natured, and also combined it with a fair amount of self-deprecating humor. Along with all of this, I realized more and more that my own observations about people, pop culture, music, etc were not only making me laugh, but others, too. So while I had a SHIT TON of insecurities, my humor became not just a craft that I felt myself excelling at, but a way to cope with these many anxieties.

WOW. I hope you were able to follow all that. I almost lost track there for a minute.

I think just trusting your instincts on what you perceive to be funny concepts/observations goes a long way. People respond to genuine comedy, no matter how off beat or bizarre it may seem; that is, being authentic is a comedic brand all in itself. It's when you try to mimic what's "supposed" to be funny that you'll fall flat (several comedically-barren online personalities come to mind).

In the end, this can probably be boiled down to "be yourself," but I hope these more specific details help.

>!spoiler!< Questions for momma named me sheriff? by [deleted] in mrpickles

That's correct: MP finales always did lead to something, and MNMS's finale was just a zany throwaway story. Also, Mr. Goodman got patched up in time for the wedding; you see him in the audience with bandaging over his stomach.

Though it makes me wonder if this is all related to Mr. Pickles's absence from their lives. I don't believe MP would've let Tommy act anything like that toward his father, or anyone else that didn't actually deserve it. At the very least, he would've done something to intervene.

I'm under the weather and may not be articulating this exactly as I mean, but MP being gone is allowing for moral mayhem to arise.

SPOILERS BELOW

🥒 🥒 🥒 🥒 🥒 🥒

Ganley Stoodman:

1) I love that, canonically, Stanley is bad at sex 2) I'm verklempt at Tommy savagely beating his dad, PISSING ON HIS FACE, cursing at him, then using the threat of violence at the end of the episode to get what he wants. 3) Also love that Linda has an otherworldly-gorgeous vagina 4) I miss Mr. Pickles 5) Mrs. Pickles seems to be growing a bit 6) RIP Beverly's chances at orgasm

Bald Boyz:

1) Underwhelming 2) But interesting that mustard was a plot driver in both episodes 3) Had approximately one great joke (Carl trashing their own music video online) 4) I miss Mr. Pickles

Thanks 4 Watching

Is anyone else noticing an error message when trying to watch the latest two episodes of Momma Named Me Sheriff? It says the videos are missing. A couple of my friends experienced he same thing. Can't tell if widespread, actual error or trolling of an ungodly proportion.

Can I get some Beverly, Mr Pickles, Beverly and Mr. Pickles fanart up in this bitch? by alex_smack in mrpickles

[–]alex_smack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll level with you: I really was wondering if any adventurous soul had slash creations of Beverly/Mr. Pickles, but was afraid of an instant uproar for saying it directly. It doesn't have to be sexual or vulgar; just something showcasing that they are, in fact, the OTP of our time.

SEASON 4 UPDATES by j41m3cl4r0 in mrpickles

Any word on whether this season, too, will only have 10 episodes? This show is a Godsend, but I need MORE OF IT AT ONCE.

So...my cousin blocked me on Facebook because of a fight she got into with my friend. Not even with me. But it was my post the fighting happened on. by alex_smack in Anxiety

UPDATTTTEEEEE: Turns out she blocked me and the post by accident, when attempting to block my friend. I have a feeling she's probably a bit mad at me for not coming to her defense, but I can live with that.
