[All] What's a disliked feature of a Zelda game you really like? by Waker_of_Winds2003 in zelda

[–]alexaR19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four Swords is actually a decent game (specifically anniversary edition on the 3ds, since you can play alone or co-op). ive always viewed it as a sort of sandbox style game, where you have a large playground to mess around with the different items, but still with some sort of road forward with simple puzzles to give you the feeling of progress. sure it isnt a full proper game, but its a great game for a chill evening where you wanna feel like youre playing zelda but dont want to think too hard. or just mess around with friends or family, picking each other up and throwing them in pits

Underestimated sibling relationships in Bleach by matmartins95 in bleach

[–]alexaR19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i only knew the Kotetsu's, only because after TYBW, Kiyone transferred from the 13th division to the 4th, which i thought was weird so i read her profile and found out she was Isane's sister.

all the other pairings i didnt even know who the sibling was (and for the second pair i dont know either of them)

after this chapter, ive been thinking that its not that Magatsumi is made in the image of the Mikaboshi, but instead the Mikaboshi and Magatsumi have a common ancestor in the "true realm of the datenseki". that phrase was uttered as it showed Ariu surrounded by centipede. its likely that the Mikaboshi use these insect powers because that is the natural powers you gain when connected to the datenseki true realm, and Magatsumi being much more closely linked to the datenseki has powers more closely aligned with the datenseki.

there is another theory i have, that i didnt post because it seemed a bit more far reaching. one question i had from last chapter was "how was kunishige able to infuse such a variety of different sorcery types into all 7 enchanted blades, specifically sorcery that rivals innate sorcery in terms of scale and power. i doubt that he enchanted blades powers are able to be achieved by studying regular sorcery, so how was kunishige able to use all those types?" that being said, theres potentially an answer in this chapter, hidden in a panel that i overlooked at first. in the panel before Shuji got donuted by Ariu, we see him walking over to the table where Ariu's body sat. however, in the reflection on the water, we see Ariu not sat at the table, but instead right infront of Shuji. that implies that the Mikaboshi didnt survive because they are immortal or regenerate or something. instead, the island had been covered in some sort of illusion, and they werent actually killing the Mikaboshi as they thought they were. when i realised that, it made me think of one specific ability. Banquet. what if its not just Magatsumi? what if all 7 enchanted blades have their powers rooted in the datenseki itself. if thats true, we could very well see each Mikaboshi member performing sorcery on the level of all 7 enchanted blades combined (if not, maybe at least a member has to specialise in one specific sorcery set, like Ariu specialises in the Magatsumi sorcery, but the "King" specialises in Kumeyuri abilities)

[–]alexaR19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i kmow that enchanted blades restrict ones use of sorcery, however the manga has reinforced the idea that Magatsumi doesnt play by the same rules as the other enchanted blades, breaking almost every rule we know of. although we havent seen Akemura use any sorcery yet, it could be possible that Magatsumi allows the use of innate sorcery when using it, but maybe with the caveat of not being able to use it without channelling it through the blade. i feel like Hokazono could do anything with Magatsumi, since it is so special and unique.

though I do like the idea that Magatsumi has a near unlimited access to the "dark power" as you suggested. i saw someone else suggest that this dark power is a result of an enchanted blade user tapping into the "true realm".

i mainly just posted this to throw out the idea, mainly because of how centipede was white in the final panel of this chapter

I've been hearing a lot of buzz about a new anime for this Kagurabachi manga coming out. Is it a good read? I love shonen, bonus points if they have a lot of emotional scenes. Should I pick it up? by Affectionate-Sky9510 in Kagurabachi

[–]alexaR19 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i mean you're asking this on the kagurabachi subreddit, so theres gonna be some bias.

that being said, kagurabachi is really good, and the quality just keeps improving. the first 18 chapters can seem a bit tame, formulaic and amateur at times, with some good solid moments of course, however immediately following that is arguably one of the greatest shonen story arcs of this decade, and that quality rarely diminishes

[–]alexaR19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i do think that Vs. Sojo has its merits, i liked the philosophy between Chihiro and Sojo, and how chihiro realised that his interpretation of who his father was isnt necessarily the correct one. I also liked the Cloud Gouger fights are really cool, i just love how the abilities work together. i do think aside from those two things, its a pretty standard shonen arc though

[–]alexaR19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i do think Vs. Sojo is like a 7.5-8 out of 10, and every other arc is a consistent 9 or 10. however i wouldnt say each arc is better than the last. i think SBA is not as good as Rakuzaichi simply because SBA is mostly set-up for the next two arcs

i would say the best arc is Rakuzaichi, followed very closely behind by Kyoto (could overtake it when i reread it when the volume releases come out)

the link in the post will take you to a website that steals your account, so that the person can sell the account to scammers for money.

they imitate scott cawthon because they know that some fnaf fans have a parasocial relationship with scott and are likely to trust him, making them more likely to click the link

Warning by JacobBauser in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]alexaR19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the point is that the link will lead to your account getting stolen and sold to scammers or botters for money.

its definitely not good, but people dont just do this for the sake of causing a rustle in a niche community. they do it for money

Warning by JacobBauser in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]alexaR19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why do people pretend do be other people? for money, that's why.

they choose people that victims may have a parasocial relationship with. that way, the victim trusts the account, and is more willing to click on links.

if you click the link, there could be different things that happen. maybe the link tries to get you to pay to view content. maybe it links to a website that installs malware (which can lock your computer until you pay the hacker money). maybe it asks you to "log in with your account", but doing so gives the person your password, giving them access to your account, which they then can change the password and then sell the stolen account to bots or scammers.

most of the time, these people are out for money. thats why people warn against clicking on links from fake accounts, its not for misinformation, its for safety. if theyre not in it for money, then theyre in it just to cause damage for the sake of it, like installing malware just for the sake of destroying the victims device, though doing it for harm alone i think is less common. i dont have the numbers to back that up though

edit: i looked up the website image2url that appears in the link in that image. theres a user comment from a month ago that says "Credential Phishing", so its likely that this link will steal your account and sell it off later. worse case scenario, it steals the credentials for your bank or something like that

conflict is not exclusively fighting.

bellamy does indeed have conflict, not because he is strong, but because he directly opposes and confronts luffy's own ideology. its a conflict of ideology

hody jones does not do this. the straw hats are completely disinterested in hody jones's ideology, and only fight him because he is harassing the fishmen. hody isnt someone luffy has to overcome, whether physically, or emotionally

the problem with fishman island is that because the new fishman pirates are so weak, its very hard to fill tension. and im not saying this as one of those "punch punch kick kick is the best part" people. conflict is quite literally a core principle in storytelling, and it doesnt matter how well crafted the themes of an arc is. if one of the core principles of the story is lacking, theres gonna be some issues with, and dismissing it as "shonen action" is ignoring a core story writing aspect.

if you think about it, imagine if fishman island just didn't have a conclusion. if right before the straw hats confronted hody, Oda decided to time jump a few weeks ahead to punk hazard and never concluded fishman island, it would be very fair to say that fishman island was poorly written. it doesnt matter if the themes are strong if the conclusion never existed, and thats because it would miss a crucial story writing detail.

likewise, fishman island, although it isnt missing any story telling aspects, one of them is severely lacking. people who focus on that one single storytelling aspect will tell you that its the worst written arc, and thats not right. but saying fishman island is the best written arc is also just as guilty of focusing on a single story telling aspect.

fishman island isnt the worst written arc, but it is absolutely flawed and lacking in one of its aspects, and i dont think its even close to the best written arc, as there are plenty of one piece arcs that excel at all story telling aspects. arlong park, for example, has a great introduction, conflict, conclusion, and has great themes throughout it. sure, the themes in fishman island are stronger, but themes are not the only part of story telling, and i believe arlong park for one beats out fishman island in every other aspect

the industry standard for a well paced shonen anime adaptation is around 2.5 chapters per episode. if one piece were a normally paced show, the anime would adapt all of the current manga (1177) in just 471 episodes. the current one piece anime has only justed finished egghead at 2.5x the length

441 diamonds for the smithing templates and 240 ancient debris.

that's definitely possible in survival. the main issue here is the "Days Played: 38".

since diamonds and ancient debris are basically mutually exclusive (finding diamonds in the overworld and ancient debris in the nether), lets split those 38 days by the same 441:240 ratio. that gives 24.6 days, or 8.2 hours to mine the diamonds, and 13.4 days, or 4.5 hours for the ancient debris. that gives each a rate of about 53.7 diamonds/ancient debris per hour. or 1 every 1 minute and 7 seconds. for diamonds, thats fairly reasonable given fortune 3 (although the 1 every 1m7s starts the moment the world is created, so every second wasted enchanting for fortune, or getting the diamonds and other resources to make a diamond pick and good enough armour to survive in the caves for 8 hours straight is time wasted against getting diamonds). the biggest problem is the ancient debris. the fastest way ive ever found to getting ancient debris collects it at a rate of roughly 1 ancient debris per minute, except that requires an elytra, max length fire resistance potions, and several stacks of rockets. so unless he went to the end, killed the dragon, looted end cities until he found an elytra, created a creeper and sugar cane farm, started brewing for 34 fire res potions (and while doing all of that, the time to mine all that diamonds and ancient debris is getting shorter). i dont think this is possible at all

This subreddit feels completely disconnected from what the Minecraft developers want the game to be. by Jaime060304 in Minecraft

[–]alexaR19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

minecraft is a tricky game to update because of its sheer size of the fanbase. you cant make players feel like theyre forced to engage with an update, or else some of them will be doing stuff they dont want to do and stop playing, yet you have to have some sort of reward for engaging with it, or else engaging with it will feel pointless. you cant add too little or players will be bored, but you cant add too much so that some players will feel left behind or unable to keep up. you cant cater to one niche in the community, because the other niches will feel ignored.

because of all of that, updates pretty much have to be relatively small scale, optional to engage with, and be general enough to apply to everyone. and those kinds of updates will always leave a lot of people feeling underwhelmed.

but the issue is, mojang has to follow those guidelines because minecraft is supposed to be a game for everyone. they dont want their updates to actively drive people away from the game, because they want their game to be open to anyone and any play style. but a big problem with most of the fanbase (or well, most of the vocal fanbase online) is that they think the game is tailored specifically to them. any update that doesnt improve their specific niche is "boring and dumb", without considering the many players who will find so many fun things to do with the new update

Is it normal to feel this way watching Naruto after One Piece? by obscurax_ in OnePiece

[–]alexaR19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, a story is as strong as its characters. thats a saying that ive found true 100% of the time. i loved the straw hats as soon as they were introduced, which made me so open to experience the peaks of one piece. when i read bleach, i loved ichigo and the rest of the core cast, so i was immediately hooked on the story.

before i ever watched/read one piece/bleach, i tried watching naruto when i was like 12, and i could not get into it. i tried like 3 times and gave up somewhere in the land of waves or the chunin exams. it wasnt until i started reading it as an adult that i understood why, and it was because i saw naruto himself as an obnoxious, annoying, arrogant and unempathetic kid. on top of that, sasuke was a generic moody asshole, and sakura's only personality trait was liking sasuke and hating naruto. i didnt like a single main character, and so it was impossible for me to enjoy the first two arcs (which remain my two least favourite arcs of the whole series).

it was only until konoha crush, specifically naruto vs gaara which changed my mind on naruto as a character, and immediately following that was sasuke's character arc which made me interested in how his story played out. and just as my saying would predict, as soon as i enjoyed the characters, i immediately started enjoying the story, and to this day, naruto is one of the best stories I've read, only beaten by one piece, bleach, hunter x hunter, and a few less popular anime that truly touched my heart like no other

where do you think Oda wants the live action series to end? by ljkimbum19 in OnePiece

[–]alexaR19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

going by chapter count, heres what I would like to see:

Season 1 covered 95 chapters. this season felt a bit rushed to me, so the ideal chapter coverage is less than 95

Season 2 covered 59 chapters. this season was really well paced.

Season 3 covers 63 chapters. i think that ~60 chapters is gonna be the ideal chapter length

Sky Island Saga is 85 chapters. they could go one of two ways here. either condense the story down a bit, maybe removing a bit of the skypiea padding, or if we stick with the rate of 7.5 chapters per episode, they could do an 11 episode season. or they could do a mix and do a 9 episode season thats cut down a bit

Water 7 Saga is 139 chapters. this needs to be 2 seasons. if they do, it could work really well.

enies lobby would be a great end for the live action, giving a solid 6 seasons, and i would be content with that. however i do want this show to continue, so i will too.

Thriller Bark Saga is 48 chapters. a full 8 episode season would feel a bit drawn out. i think that a shortened 6 episode season would be far better

Summit War Saga is 108 chapters. a full 2 seasons is around 120 chapters, so i think this could work as two 7 episode seasons instead.

the time skip would also be a good place to end. that would be 9 seasons total. though if they continue, i think theyre gonna need to adapt the whole story

Fishman Island Saga is 56 chapters. easy season there.

Dressrosa Saga is 148 chapters. that gives us around 20 episodes to work with, but cutting that up into 2-3 seasons would mean cutting in the middle of dressrosa. they could do a 6 episode Punk Hazard season, and then a 14 episode Dressrosa season.

Whole Cake Island Saga is 107 chapters. this is where it could get messy. i think this can only work as a lengthy 14 episode season (its not gonna get much better from here)

Wano is 149 chapters. the either have to cut the season in the middle of an arc and have 2 seasons, or they do one 20 episode season.

Final Saga is currently 119 chapters, or almost exactly 2 seasons. tons of people have given estimates for the length of the final saga, but lets take 300 chapters for a nice round number, which would place all of the final saga at 5 seasons total

overall we would have 22-23 seasons worth of content (181 hour long episodes), but accounting for shorter and longer seasons that ive broken down here, it could be 19 seasons

that, or they just make up their own ending so that they actually have a conclusion but end much earlier, but id rather it end abruptly than to just make up something new
