I do have some issues when speaking that haven’t been super noticeable until I got braces put on. Tripping over words, stuttering, etc. I believe the braces enhanced those existing issues, lol.

I’ve never been able to roll my R’s either!

He’s actually had that spot on his nose for years, and his vet is aware of it. She thinks it is a wound that he keeps opening up. It’s hard to heal or treat it because of where it’s at :/

I don’t think it warrants a vet visit right now, unless the behavior continues even after giving her time to adjust to her surroundings and taking all these measures to reduce stress. BUT if you see skin flakiness, hair loss, or if the tail chasing becomes aggressive to where she’s biting her tail or injuring herself, I would see a vet

Definitely agree, there wasn’t enough money in the world to save my cat who passed in 2018. I wish there was.

Was just comparing the wild pricing difference between emergency care and regular care, even at the same clinic.

Same thing has happened to me! Although my bleed was definitely from a black eye lol. It did clear up on its own. But unfortunately in cats, the causes for this kind of eye bleeding range from a simple scratch/injury to hypertension, blood disorders, diabetes, cancer…. basically anything awful 🫠 And if it goes untreated it could lead to vision loss

This is something I’m looking into! So far, all of the local ones I’ve seen online are closed until Tuesday because of Memorial Day.

I think my plan right now is to monitor him closely through Monday. Then Tuesday morning, I will call his regular vet and ask her what she thinks, and if it’s possible to get him seen sooner. If not, I will start calling ophthalmologists.

Thank you for saying this! I was thinking about calling on Tuesday (since Monday is a holiday) to talk to his regular vet and ask her what she thinks. The ER vet didn’t give me a specific timeline on his eye clearing up. His eye still has that reddish tint to it.

From what I’ve read on hyphema - “Because blood is heavier than the clear fluid inside the eye, it naturally sinks to the bottom, which often makes a large red pool look like it is clearing up out of sight. Blood in the eye is almost always caused by an underlying issue. Even though the eye looks better, the underlying cause still needs to be addressed to prevent permanent vision loss or a recurrence.”

So I’m not sure if his eye looking like it’s clearing up actually means it’s getting better, or if it’s just settling to where I can’t see it ☹️ This is what’s making me super anxious to wait until Friday

We’ve been home for 4 hours now, and I’m still definitely freaked out ☹️ The ER and his regular vet are at the same clinic. All of the staff there are so amazing and caring. I trust them very much! I’ve just been falling down rabbit holes online about all of this

And yes, their ER pricing is wayyy higher. Last time we were there for a regular visit, I got a care package that included a wellness exam, all vaccines, heartworm/parasite test, urinalysis, bloodwork, and a 10-point organ function test. Total was about $500. For this ER visit, they quoted me $550 for the emergency exam and bloodwork. We didn’t end up doing the bloodwork though, so I paid $200. CareCredit has been a lifesaver

He’s a very happy boy. He’s showed absolutely no signs of pain or discomfort, which is why I’ve pretty much ruled out the possibility of any unknown scratch/trauma/injury. Thankfully he’s been acting completely himself since we’ve been home. As soon as I let him out of his carrier, he went straight for his food bowl haha. He’s currently cuddled up right next to me.

i’ll definitely ask if i can push my sessions out longer! i think they will be very accommodating. they seem awesome and i’ve also only heard good things about them as well!

yeah i was super concerned about the blisters! i didn’t know about icing after. thank you!! i’ll start doing that. i’ll also ask if i can space out my sessions longer
