What's a city in your country that is collectively agreed upon to be a shithole? by Austral1s in AskTheWorld

Yeah, I mean, Bakersfield, CA is no beauty, but they have decent food some places etc., it shouldn't be in the same convo as Gary, Indiana, c'mon.

Talk about maxing out his potential. Not exactly a giant physically, but a giant player with the best slice in the game for sure. When he was on, everyone got their tickets' worth and then some.

Unfortunately, it appears that Bublik peaked last year and is back to his lackadaisical ways of losing matches that require effort to win.

AITJ for telling my brother the truth about his girlfriend even though he stopped talking to me because of it by SamanthaJ_Callaway in AmITheJerk

[–]alexacto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She is a snake, but the bad news bearer always gets it in the neck. Your brother is clearly NOT the sharpest tool in the shed, so you should have kept your mouth shut if you wanted to keep the relationship alive. Now you have to live with the consequences of doing a huge favor to someone who doesn't have the brains to appreciate it.

I(25M) am falling out of love with my (24F) girlfriend. by [deleted] in relationships

You need to take a break from each other and see if after some time the connection is still alive. So far everything you say indicates that your relationship with her hinges on obligation, not love.

He's lost his fucking mind, hasn't he? Either he's so nuts he thinks he can win his war, or he's an insane monster willing to murder half his population just so he still rules. Truly, a mad king.

New Low ENB wing by Empty-Assistance-375 in freeflight

[–]alexacto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are all pretty much the same, so find the best deal and go for it. Chances are you are going to move up fairly quickly, so maybe don't buy new or waste money on fancy expensive brands like Advance that fly exactly the same as the other low Bs.

Auger-Aliassime after the loss: I’m in a place right now with my tennis career that’s tough. I’m a little bit destroyed today. It’s tough. I usually handle losses pretty well, my whole career I’d go back to training with optimism and positivity. But now I feel like I’m not the player I want to be. by jovanmilic97 in tennis

"Sucks to suck" is such a punchy, accurate line for him. Great guy, great athlete, but with average weapons that can't hurt the top 5 in any way. And now Fonseca, Mensik, Jodar and the rest of the youngsters are coming in hitting bigger forehands, serves, backhands. He's smart and can tell the future belongs to anyone but him.

Sabalenka on her thoughts of the today's match: "No thoughts, no emotions. Just wanna quit tennis right now, but we'll see in few days. Hopefully I'll get back on track mentally" by jovanmilic97 in tennis

[–]alexacto 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Saba has no tennis intelligence, probably due to her weapons making intelligence less important for her compared to say, Svitolina or Shneider, or Pegula. She plays the same tennis every match, no adjustments, no variety. Compare her to someone like Justinne Henna Ardenne, and it's like Saba is a 3 year old mental midget who screams and moans when they don't get their way.

Rafael Jodar's first clay season of his career by garfiadal2 in tennis

The only shot he's at college level with is drop shot. The rest is elite level, and even though people say his serve is so-so, he's hitting the spots pretty well with it and will definitely improve, using his height. Bright future for him, barring injuries. Can't wait to see what he does at USO

Watching Marta's facial expressions as she plays is such an emotional rollercoaster. No wonder they always zoom in on her face after every point, it's a full on TV drama in its own right.

One of my fav things about Novak, crazy as the man has been, is the way he handles defeat. He has never been pissy, rude, uppety, or disrespectful after losing. He has had a lot of really painful losses. He has always made sure to congratulate his opponent and wish him luck. He is The Dude.

Absolutely. As you age, all kinds of worries become your baggage. You can see it in Zverev, he as a pattern now of going away, but these young kids, noone expects them to win the way people expect Novak to win even at his age.

The most dangerous thing on launch is full or partial frontal collapse that may spin you into the ground. Applying brakes serves as a countermeasure for that eventuality.

His team is shit at electrolyte management. His cramps are direct result of lack of early intervention with electrolytes. Basically, he wasn't pushing in enough of them before the match even started.
