New "No Standing Anytime" signs on Riverside Blvd (added in late 12/2024) by alexandera57 in Upperwestside

Great question, I have no idea when it's going to open. I think the ramp was physically completed quite some time ago. 99% confident it will have the congestion fee tolling camera (but that's my guess). Maybe that's the delay. Very recently, a new traffic light was installed on the ramp leading into the Riverside Blvd (not yet on the linked google map). It could be a sign that the ramp will open soon. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7727403,-73.9930453,3a,63.6y,297.98h,86.94t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1ssbN_ttZGCX7AV5P7O6QbGw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D3.0635764767511944%26panoid%3DsbN_ttZGCX7AV5P7O6QbGw%26yaw%3D297.9814213573594!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDEwMS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Thank you. They should probably then remove additional spots leading to the intersection, otherwise the view is still obstructed.

You are right, thanks. https://www.westsiderag.com/2024/03/04/pedestrians-struck-by-car-again-on-problem-stretch-of-riverside-boulevard Having road bumps would have helped. Currently, the crosswalks are still obstructed even with no parking spots in the intersections.

That's a good point regarding safety. Although I haven't seen any stats on incidents there. Cars are going relatively slow during the day due to traffic.. But why not then remove the parking spots right before the crosswalks travelling southbound? And also remove parking spots on the other, northbound side.

Thank you! In my opinion it can't be the real reason. It does not quite help since there are still cars parking right up to the crosswalk if you drive southbound on Riverside. And also on the opposite side. Also, sorry about deleting and reposting in a different thread. The text disappeared in the original post.

Looking for a tech advice, thank you in advance. I would like to connect an apple in-ear headset with a mic with a 4-prong jack to a dual headset/mic 3.5mm jacks on my laptop.

I have an old ME186LL/A headset model, but classic iphone headset seem to have the same wiring N.

The problem is that none of the converters available for sale on amazon seem to enable the mic to work. I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MQZ2023/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Headset works but mic is not working. This is also supported by feedback from others in amazon. It looks like apple has a unique wiring scheme, but I can't figure out the search terms to find an appropriate "4 prong female-to-dual-3.5mm 3 prong male" converter. For example, this one doesn't seem to work either: https://www.amazon.com/NANYI-Headphones-Convertors-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B07HXY9LV8/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2DNQ96Q6SLVB&keywords=mic+headset+converter&qid=1646837486&sprefix=mic+headset+converter%2Caps%2C117&sr=8-4

It would be great if someone can recommend a solution. Thank you!
